OFFICIAL Droid X 2.2 Solutions/Issues Thread

is there any way to fix the facebook contact pictures not being updated? I have checked so many forums and no one has a solution

Any other updates coming down the pipe for the X?

The Moto forums do mention that they are probably working on updates for a few big issues but there is no indication as to when this will actually come to us.

I hope because I wish I was still running 2.1 my phone has never been more sluggish

3. MP4 files that I had on the phone no longer work, a lot of my MP3 files do not install, it tells me that it is an unsupported file format.

I'm having this problem too, my mp3 files will sometimes work fine and then 10 mins later I'll get the message that the file is not supported. The only fix I've found is to reboot the phone.

Another problem I'm having is with my e-mail notification sound. Every time I turn it off it automatically resets to the standard "Droid" sound.

Smaller problem, it takes longer for my SD card to mount upon start up.

I'm having the same problem with MP3 files. It's only happened a few times since I upgraded to 2.2. And, like you, I've found that the fix is to reboot the phone. When this happens, I know it because my ringtone changes ... my normal ringtone is an MP3 file.

I had the same issues since the update, along with the phone being on a serious delay with shifting from landscape back to portrait. some times it doesnt even switch.

But my solution to the music files and videos playing (i had an issue with no youtube videos playing) was to restore the phone back to factory settings. i backed up the limited files i had and did a hard restart. since doing that everything has worked fine.

i recommend trying that. its worked so far and is fairly simple. it didnt solve the screen delay with moving the phone back to portrait but solved the music/video stuff.

i wish i never updated. was

What's the exact issue? I had an issue where one day I looked down at my phone and I had an icon in the notification bar. The icon said something along the lines of "SD card not available". It wanted me to format it. I couldn't connect to my computer in mass storage mode, I couldn't remount it and after giving up I couldn't even format it. It would ask if I really wanted to format it, I'd say yes and it would do nothing.

I ended up having to take it to verizon. They tried to revive the card as well and ended up telling me it was corrupt and replaced it for me. The phone was doing nothing but streaming pandora at the time. No reason it should have corrupted. Oh well. I back up my media a lot more often now.

PDANET no longer works after update.

Pdanet was working perfect, just paid for the app two days ago. Downloaded the update (Froyo?) and after install cannot get the app to work right.

When plugging the phone into a Vista machine it attempts to install a driver but cannot find one, and the computer won't recognize the phone as it did before.

And is as often the case... I spoke too soon

From the PDANET page, they've updated it to cover the problem. Instead of "PC Mode" on the usb connection you must use the one called "USB Mass Storage".

i didnt bother reading 39 pages but the prolems ive noticed since doing the 2.2 update has been that:
-music player stops playing or crashes alot now.
-my battery goes from 15% to dead within 5 min
-text messages are out of order(saw this posted before)
-text messages say they were not sent but they really were so i find myself accidentally sending the same message to my friends like 3 times
-text messages show suggestions line when u exit the keyboard mode(can be a pain if u accidentally hit one of them when trying to hit send)

im hoping they do little updates soon to fix the problems. i use the music player alot. i would also like to see a headphone profile added to the sounds instead of just grouping the speaker and headphone as "media volume" cause i will go from having somthing on speaker then put headphones on later and i blow my ears out every time.

My camera stopped working...it takes a picture but when you open the gallery, it just shows a default thumbnail for pic/video. And then it won't open the camera application anymore afterward - flashes then shows the home screen again.

WTF FARVA!!!

I have the update but i don't seem to have flash embedded vids goes to the stand alone player and I don't see the app in the drawer...any idea what the problem is?
