im still getting FC when i go into the rom manager. instead of getting the FC right away, I get it when I click on Install Rom from SD card...any ideas?

Not sure about the ROM manager FC since mine is not doing it. But make sure you have voice search installed from the market for the search to work

Thanks...any chance of re-adding facebook contact sync? Or is that in the hands of the original MIUI developers?

I'm going to work on facebook sync now, since everything else is working. It might be something that is left out until the MIUI devs can add it natively. Do they even use Facebook in China? Who knows. If I get it working I will definitely add it back into the next 6.X or 7.X release.

does flashing this rom require reactivating my phone?

Am almost 100% certain that No rom ever require activating after an install.If you install a new radio file, then you may need to. After d/l of rom, Just hit the 4 corners from left to right to bypass "act/android" screen

i wiped data/cache then flashed the new rom. the phone resterted and i didnt have to go through the activation at all.

nevermind, did it again and it worked...

Same issue here. I try to manage back ups and get FC right away. RM opens now, but does not seem to be functional.

Solution:

1. Download both Google Search and Voice Search from the Market.
2. Using Root Explorer (or equivalent), go into /data/app and move com.google.android.apps.googlequicksearchbox-1.apk to /system/app (leave Voice Search where it is in /data/app)
3. Rename the above .apk to GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk
4. Reboot phone

Now tapping the search button should bring up Google Search and holding down the search button should bring up Voice Search.

I'm not having any issues with ROM Manager. Have you tried fixing permissions?

hmmmm my ROM manager works fine.. wiped data/cache 3 times, followed correct activation screen method... try reinstalling the ROM

i reinstalled my apps using titanium backup and everything works.. way better than v5 so far

One (VERY) minor issue I've found with the new version (6.2)

If I go to Settings > Data Backup
and activate Back up my data and/or Automatic Restore, when I back out of the menu and go back into it, they keep turning themselves off. I guess backing up data is not possible with this ROM?

yeah, the search button doesnt work at all for me. other than that, dont really have any complaints.

Just want to start by saying this rom is great. had no problems with it whatsoever and it looks really great. thanks a lot devs!

I had a quick question though. I was wondering if it would be able for me to change the default music app. i prefer the one on UD1 for example because you can set gestures for it plus there are more widget options. I tried taking the music.apk file from UD1 and replaced it in the system/app folder but i couldn't get it to install. i was wondering if there was something im doing wrong or if this is even possible. any help would be appreciated. thanks
