Official Team D1-MIUI-10.29-V6.X Release

Yeah I also like the lock screen from the older versions better. Was more sleeker looking. The new one to me is more boring looking. Still love it though!

Is it possible to get the old lockscreen back and still use 6.4

i may be mistaken but i believe i've heard the developers say that things like this are tied in with the framework... sooooo most likely no.

but on the other hand, the lockscreen is one of the most prominent features of miui and will probably go through endless more evolutions in the future. if you don't like it now, wait a week.

you would be correct

In any case, as a themer, you should replace the icons within the apps themselves, and leave the customized_icons_1 folder method to the end user. This way you get the desired theme and still give the end user enough flexibility to change icons as they see fit, or revert if it didn't work/look the way they wanted it to or thought it would.

Urgh, that's not what I wanted to hear. I don't mind ripping out the application icons and replacing them with my own. The issue I have with MIUI is how the rom automatically puts a background on your home screen icons. I like the default 90x90 pixels from the customized_icons_1 folder but when the rom puts them on the desktop it appears to drop your icon pixels down to 72x72 then adds the background. So my thinking was just create an update.zip with the customized_icons_1 folder and then I wouldn't have to touch the /data/apps folder at all.

I can see how that would be 'bad form' from a themer perspective. Is there a way to have the icons from the /data/apps folder hit the desktop without the miui backgrounds?

Also, if anyone needs it I just updated the stock update.zips I uploaded right before the official FRG22D hit. At the time I used the patch zip to pacth FRG01B, but this time I used the Master OTA to make the roms. One is deodexed and the other is odexed. It's always good to have a stock rom sitting on your sd, in case things go sour with an install.

You can still go that route, but I think you should post instructions on how to change the icons and provide the icons as a separate download for those users who wish to recover your theme icons.

It's not bad form since the user still has the option of changing icons within the folder to whatever they wish, and as long as you provide a separate download with your icons, then all is well in the world.

My wife is Korean but I certainly would be no help from a dev. Standpoint. I did root back at 2.0.1 and I've flashed probably 300 Roms. Got ADB running. Let me know if Noone else can help.

If your talking about the older versions of MIUI it is, sorta, possible. I did it by mistake on an earlier release. Trying to hurry and release blue steel. I'll mess around with it if you really really have to have it.

I dont need testers, just a pair of Korean reading eyes that will be able to tell me if the right stuff is translated.

I disagree with ZeroBarrier. I think its a better idea to replace the customized_icons_1 with the update.zip. Replacing the icon inside of the APK will work, but MIUI will still re-generate the icon with it's custom background, defeating the purpose of making a custom icon.

However, the downside is that these icons will be reverted back to normal when the app is updated.

You can also mod MIUI to not generate backgrounds behind the icons by just replacing the images in framework-res with transparent ones, but I believe they will still be resized to be smaller than normal.

Yeah the lock screen from version 0.2.1. If its not too hard that would be really cool. It would look cool lighting up blue too.

Yeah, you could go either way. I did look at some of the other miui themes and they didn't mess with the customized_icons folder so I can understand where Zero is coming from. It makes more work for the themer to change all the application apks and make a custom icon folder but it feels like the right thing to do. Not that I do the right thing all the time but if your going to take the time to theme something why not go all the way.

Besides, with a separate customized_icons_1 update.zip when a program does get updated all a user would have to do is reflash the custom icon zip and they would get the themed icon back.

I did try and make the drawable-hdpi-finger-v4 icons transparent but it made the whole icon transparent on the home screen. I swear I did that with earlier versions of miui and it worked but it didn't with this one. I could have screwed it up, thats highly probable too. I also tried deleting those icons but just got boot loops or launcher fcs.

Like a moron I also went through all my /data/app apks and swapped out the icons with 90x90 icons. Your right that it just shrinks them down and puts the miui background on them. Learned that lesson the hard way.
