Official Team D1-MIUI-10.29-V6.X Release

Did you remember to change permissions (rw-r--r--) after dropping it into /system/app/?

Yes sir, only difference is Owner and Group info.

Here's all the info:
Name: CarHomeLauncher.apk
Permissions: rw-r--r--
Size: 13241
Timestamp: 01 Aug 2010
22:56:32
Owner: 1000
Group: 1000

All functioning apks show Owner and Group values of 0

ah looks like i must have accidentally hit that switch today. well thats cool haha. i didnt realize thats what it does. /facepalm

edit:: it still has only worked for that one person so im confused i guess. ive texted multiple people and that one person is the only one it has done it with.

is that person the only other one with verizon?

^^right. the delivery reports only show up for people who have verizon..the others dont

So you dropped CarHomeLauncher.apk into /system/app/, changed permissions to rw-r--r-- and it's not showing up on your home screens? Did you reboot? It should just pop up on your home screens without a reboot, but better safe than sorry.

I don't see why it shouldn't be working, the CarHomeLauncher.apk doesn't install any lib files to the /data/data/ folder in order to work (like Google Earth does).

As an alternative, run fix permissions in Rom Manager or open terminal emulator and run:

su
fix_permissions

I max out the particular kernel I am using (1.2Ghz - 1.66Ghz).

This right here tells me everything I need to know about you; and it also tells me to ignore anything you say.

Why? Because there is no such kernel that runs above 1.25Ghz. No if's, and's or but's about it.

I recommend you do some more reading, because you, sir, have a lot to learn.

P.S.: ROMs don't affect battery life, users do.[/QUOTE]

Oops, i meant 1.266 (jdlfg). Typo...

def. hoping to get my hands on the new version this weekend! hopefully its not as buggy as the last release! keep switching back and forth from MIUI 6.4, Avalon themed Sapphire and ShadowROM .. cant decide which to stay with!

You should have just edited your previous post...

Dude, I live in Las Vegas too. Stop making me look bad...

:rofl3:

So... do you know why MIUI was slow and laggy compared to CM 6.1 when o/c over 1Ghz. I just figured it was b/c 6.1 is 2.2.1
Ps. I'm here for information only, save the attitude please.

Got it, its showing up now, I don't know if it was the reboot or the fix permissions, or both together. In any case its showing up now. Thanks man you rock.

On a side note, when I exit out of the Car Home app it crashes the Launcher...

It's most likely the same thing that makes the home launcher crash when removing it from the cradle. Be it the Car Dock (and Car Home Launcher too) or the Home Dock, when exiting, the home launcher crashes for some reason.

Not a big deal, just a little annoying having to wait for the redraw, but we manage.

He's probably just busy or something. Either that or the bugs in the last version are still persistent and it is a result of the porting process that causes them. Might have to make a patch to get it working proper. So knows but I'm in no hurry. They do this for free and I'm not going to complain if it takes a while for the next version. Better to have a functioning rom then a buggy update to please the masses.

Yeah. With a theme to get out all the ugly it was nice. Its really grown into a thing of its own. I hope Google has learned a thing or two from our Chinese friends and incorporate some of the features into the next incarnation of android.
