Official Team D1-MIUI-10.29-V6.X Release

I thought I saw something on this before but I'm having problems with some of my contacts. They all show up when I go to the contacts page but when I try to select somebody from the texting(conversation) menu it doesn't show all of my contacts. It also shows them all 2-3 times.

I already tried deleting and restoring my contact info, and all it really did was make the same contacts show up more. Any help would be appreciated.

for the "texting" issue, im pretty sure someone said you need to make sure that the numbers you want to text that dont show up, are actually set as a MOBILE phone number.

Does Car Home not show up as an app for anyone else? I installed from the Market, it runs when docked in my car, but is not an app I can run on its own.

There is a CarHomeLauncher.apk that actually appears as a launchable app. If you have no icon it probably means you are missing this package, which has no other purpose than to launch the Car Home UI.

You could always backup your Droid, then flash MIUI 6.4 again, save the apk to your sdcard, then restore your backup and move the apk into /system/app. (Someone help me out if I've left out any critical step here.)

dont know about the carhome, but the gallery caching, ive had an issue with EVERY single rom ive flashed. the only one i didnt was Metick's BlackNBlue bar stock rom. every other one has caused me problems there though. the pictures do load though it just takes a minute or two, so it cant be that big of a fix/problem.

Right. I can't imagine it would be anything huge to fix, but it is super irritating. From what I can tell the images aren't being cached at all when opened.. Gallery shows no cache under the application info. Didn't have this issue on stock or BB roms.

Trying to follow this project but it's tough.

Anyway is 6.4 still the latest out? If so is the link down right now or is it on my end?

Thanks.

Edit: Got it downloaded.

Good call, didn't even realize their were two seperate apps. I pulled the file out of the stock FRG22D rom and dropped it on my sd card, but it will not install.. Just reports back "application not installed"

i just noticed today as i sent a message out that it said Message has been received by "Person". there was also a check mark next to my message that it was received, kind of like kik. this is the only person it has done it to. ive checked all my others and none have that. any idea why or is this some feature?

its the read and delivery reports.. u can check or uncheck it in the settings .. all ROMs usually have this

ah looks like i must have accidentally hit that switch today. well thats cool haha. i didnt realize thats what it does. /facepalm

edit:: it still has only worked for that one person so im confused i guess. ive texted multiple people and that one person is the only one it has done it with.

My experience with MIUI 10.29 V6.4

I am somewhat new to rom-ing my droid. ie: have only used CM and this rom, and have only been rooted for a couple months. I am a quick learner and I understand software and electronics as it is my job. Take this for what it's worth and hopefully someone will appreciate the info from my experience with these roms.
I tried this rom for a week, and it was a really good rom. For the most part everything worked and well too, I like this rom overall. I chose to go back to CM 6.1 though and here is why:
In short; speed and battery life. I would say from my experience that MIUI is not slow by any means, perhaps comparable to CM 6.0 in speed, but CM 6.1 is noticeably faster and less laggy.
Note: I run a lot of apps, to the point of running out of space, and I use them all. I know it may not be the best idea, but thats how I like my phone set up.
Battery life was good when not over-clocked, comparable to CM 6.0. When over-clocked battery life was horrible (full charge lasted 4 - 8hrs depending on use).
When over-clocked I ran into this: anything over 1Ghz would heat up the phone noticeably and lag, and eventually start FC apps and home and become unusable until it cooled back down. The only abnormal part of this is that it started acting all wacked out when it got warm. In CM I also over-clock my droid and I always over-clock past 1Ghz, usually around 1.2 to 1.266, but it always keeps working just fine.
I always set up setcpu to run my phone at 800Mhz - 1Ghz when not plugged in and around 500Mhz when the screen is off, when plugged in I max out the particular kernel I am using (1.2Ghz - 1.66Ghz). I did this the same way for both MIUI and CM as well as ran all the same apps and the phone was pretty much set up the same with both roms. I used jdlfg and p3 kernels.
This post hopefully will help someone and if you are more knowledgable and have some tips for me, let me know. I am always looking to make my phone run smoother and faster, with the best possible battery life.

is that person the only other one with verizon?

I dropped it in /system/app with Root Explorer. Still a no go. Never messed with adb. What about terminal emulator?

Did you remember to change permissions (rw-r--r--) after dropping it into /system/app/?

I max out the particular kernel I am using (1.2Ghz - 1.66Ghz).

This right here tells me everything I need to know about you; and it also tells me to ignore anything you say.

Why? Because there is no such kernel that runs above 1.25Ghz. No if's, and's or but's about it.

I recommend you do some more reading, because you, sir, have a lot to learn.

P.S.: ROMs don't affect battery life, users do.
