Is it absolutely imperative that I SBF back to stock Froyo? I have a nandroid backup of a clean 2.3.340 Froyo install. Couldn't I simply use DX bootstrapper to load that back on, then get rid of DX and download D2 bootstrapper?

Yes, you don't have to sbf if you have a stock nandroid backup.

Any word if we need to do a Date/Cache wipe and Factory reset to go from Rooted 595 to Deo 596?

you do not have to wipe if coming from 588/591/595

you should note that if flashing over 595 you may get a hang at the eye for quite a while. A battery pull did the trick for me.

Just did mine and sat at the red eye for 5-7 minutes, then it loaded up just fine. Was just about to do a battery pull ...

I attempted to do the Froyo update. Was using the TBH app, and first sbf'd (using the .zip) to make sure I was on 2.3.340 stock. I then used the TBH app to download the 2 parts, and followed the instructions here to update to 4.5.496, and after rebooting, I was stuck in Bootloader with the following error code: err:A5,69,35,00,27.

Any insight on why this isn't working? I have sbf'd back to 340, and will wait to try again.

Sbf 'd to. 340, then then z4, 2 step zip to. 596, then deodexed .596 over that. I had the .07 radio on deodexed .595. So far so good. Used all my. 595 goodies, crt, pulldown, trans lockscreen, watermarked theme. All good.

Strange, i fallowed the instructions of this treadh and I didnt have any problem

For an official release there are still a lot of bugs in it. I still can't believe they didn't fix the LED notification for texts and the hard key lights are still way too bright. My phone seems to run hot on GB too. You think they would have fixed all this.

It is but I installed Liberty last night for it and it's really fast now. I was also getting major lag going from an app to home on different launchers.

I found i was running froyo 2.2.32 and not .340 so i had to fix that and everything else works fine now
