OK, my battery lasts 4 times longer now. No joke!

Just installed Juice Defender.

1) Are the quick settings good enough ?
2) Any major advantages to the paid version ?
3) Website says it does not work on Droid, is that correct ??

Johnly, you don't seem to be arguing that Juice Defender is pointless... it saves the battery by limiting the time the APN or data connection is available to the smartphone. So instead of having a constant data connection for updates and email, JD turns on the APN one minute for every 15 minutes when in standby. It turns on the APN when the screen is on, etc. I'm sure you would agree that the constant data connection a smartphone has with servers is the leading cause of battery drain, other than the LCD screen?
Nope, not once have I said JD is pointless:) and I like task killer by apollo too, but only use it to ignore apps that like to auto start. Ignoring apps in settings does the same thing without task killer having permission to all those areas of the phone as well, and doing so, seems to have a good point. I just don't get auto killing apps when the OS already does a good job of that. I think battery improvements can be seen when used properly, sure, and maybe even 2-25% (maybe more?) idk, but it wont quadruple it, lol. (OP, if you are getting 4x more, keep rockin it lucky dog) Thanks for bringing that up xliderider:greendroid:

Advanced Task Killer doesn't have that option, apollo task killer does
chart

That should help anyone else looking for Apollo Task Killer

edit: just ran the code myself and saw that in the market it is listed as Advanced Task Killer Free (by Apollo Software), whereas on Android zoom its listed as Apollo Task killer, this seems to be what is leading to the confusion. In any event, the above QR code will take you where you need to be.

Yea, thats actually where i got it from to in order to find it easier. Whats with all these apps by different develepors having the same freakin names with these task killers? Lol isnt there any strict copyrght stuff going on here?

i have been using juice defender for a while. but last night installed this apollos atk... usually after school (moderate to heavy use lol) i have about 40-50% battery left. i currently have 60%. i have noticed it burns fast in the upper 30%'s. because once im down to 50ish i can hold that for a while. so we will see what it is like by the end of the day

This might be a stupid question but is it a good idea to let the task killer itself run in the background?? I guess if u plan on just killing task automatically this would make sense right?? This whole thing with task killers quite frankly has always been overwhelming to me, with peoplw always saying u dont need them since the os already has one built in by default, but i guess it depends how u use all this suff and ho much u use ur phone.
Also another thing regarding battery, i know the droid purposely charges while its on and i think somebody mentioned that u should turn it off after awhile when its done charging?? Which makes sense, its just that my phone could be laying there for afew hours on 100 percent but i guess thats where juice defender comes in..maybe i should stop worrying about the battery and enjoy my phukking phone lol

Well so far I am not impressed. I have no proof yet but it appears my battery is draining significantly faster since installing JD and ATK. Normal usage gets me around 16 hours of battery life but right now Battery Left is reporting only 13 left, despite JD reporting a 2x increase in battery life "whatever that means"

I'm willing to keep trying but wondering if I am doing something wrong.

how can I get missed call on the ignore list? NEVER MIND, I figured it out. I just hope my battery lasts a little longer.

Ok, I read this somewhere, Go to the app you want to ignore and open it, Then go to home and open the killer app and you should see running apps. Touch and hold the app you want ignored and choose your action. Let me know if it works

i think this app would be most effective if it killed all your apps and not have any on the ignore list...

with that said, i am trying to ignore as few many apps as i can. should i ignore setcpu?

looks good to me

i don't know ladies and gents. i installed this app yesterday, pulled it off the charger at 8 am this morning and here it is 11:30 with 90% battery. i have been listening to my phone's music player since i have pulled it off the entire time. thats 3.5 hrs of constant listening to the player with much less drain..
i am not saying that it makes the apps use less battery but if it turns off other things in the background that make it last longer i am super fine with that.

i have all the regular things on the ignore list, ie. messaging/email/helix/screebl

from where i am sitting it is saving some battery life.. i can't claim 4x but my normal usage would at least be 80-70% by this time today depending on usage of course.

going to keep an eye on it the rest of the day and the following few days to see if it is constant improvement or not.

jz.
