Old D1-MIUI-0.12.24.0

Having issues with facebook login with tweetdeck and launcherpro ... any ideas? It won't let me login or even get to the login screen.

Anyone have any idea why 0.12.24 is creating the system dex files in /data/dalvik-cache/ instead of /cache/dalvik-cache/?

I'll be honest, I skipped 0.12.11 and 0.12.18 so I am unsure if those versions were also creating system dex files in data instead of cache, but 0.12.3.2 was definitely creating system dex files in /cache/dalvik-cache/ properly.

If anyone has any answers or any insight, I'd greatly appreciate it.

......I don't know what a protected app is.

Neither did I, but I found this explanation on another Android site.....

The Android Market is a bit confusing on how it shows apps available to your phone. There are basically three categories of apps:

Free & Unprotected - Everyone should be able to see these on the Market.
Paid & Unprotected - People in certain countries can see these apps, based on your SIM card information. If you can't see any paid apps at all on the Market, you can try a program like Market Enabler that will mimic SIM info for other countries. I don't cover how to do that in this tutorial but it's easy to find how-to instructions elsewhere. I'm in Canada so I haven't had to worry about the country lockouts.
Protected (Free or Paid) - If an app is set as "protected" then Google checks your firmware and only allows it to be seen if you have one of the firmwares on their accepted list. If you have flashed a firmware or have root, you probably cannot see these apps on the Market. That's what this tutorial will try to fix.

The workaround that fixed version 0.12.11 was to edit the build.prop file in the system folder of the ROM. What you have to do is remove the # sign that comments out the old explanation of the description and fingerprint ro. lines. Then comment in the next two lines that properly describe the build and fingerprint.

I hope this works again for the 0.12.24 ROM. I am trying it as I type. I used 7zip to change the file "build.prop"

I was able to edit these lines of "build.prop" and add the edited version into the zip file for version 0.12.24 with 7 zip. My market is working fine.

Martytoo - can you write here what you changed the build.prop to be? Thanks!

Jamezelle - thanks for the great port and stable release..installing now and Merry (day after) Christmas!

Have you guys noticed that news and weather widget is missing or is that just me? I can't find it....seems like its missing or maybe it happened during the install somehow or something...I dont know. I was just wondering if it was supposed to be that way.

Can someone help me? I can make a backup in Titanium Backup, but I can't restore it. All the apps that are supposed to restore are crossed out and don't restore.

I have both the Titanium Backup and the Key from the market.

Maybe I can help. I had an earlier post with same issue. I've managed to get around the problems with several different solutions and some of those may not be necessary. It seems the main issue is trying to do a batch restore where apps are on the SD card. TiBu will hang when it runs into those, like Angry Birds. A couple workarounds are to allow the market to update the apps then use TiBu to restore just the data for that app. I also had to turn off the preference in TiBu to restore to original location. I installed all my apps to the internal (memory was running short) and then used the System/Application Mgr to move to SD card those programs that could be moved. Angry Birds required unmounting the SD card, going to Market, download and then remount the SD card and then move to the SD card.
BTW I also found even my MIUI backup would hang when trying to restore and it also was because I had apps on the SD card.
I'm up and running and this ROM is a nice improvement over the 12.11. I'm no expert so these solutions may not be the best, but they worked for me. As an aside TiBu will not move apps to SD card in this ROM for me.

Try doing a search for "restore-geniewidget-update.zip". Install as you would a rom through recovery and it will put the genie widget in the system/app folder.

I always thought the widget genie was the original widget picker.

Edit: I went to the root of my sd card with root explorer and searched for that file....nothing. Any other ideas?

Theme downloader = best idea in a long time. Now we just gotta put all of our themes on it and it'll be amazing haha! :D

I'm actually having troubles applying some themes. I tried the Elitepro theme and it wouldn't take. but others would. I tried the new MiuiEvo 3.0 theme and it wouldn't go away after trying to flash other themes after it, eventually it went away. And yes, I'm using all the .mtz themes. Must be something in the themes being that most were made for the last 12.18 build or something? Anyone else having trouble with the themes?

Are you flashing back to 'stock' everytime? If the new theme doesn't change a part of your phone that the old on did then those old pieces would still be on it. I think at least. Ordinarily it would, but idk how this theme manager app installs themes. It may revert to stock and then install the new one.

Great rom!! very fast and stable and looking forward to no more random reboots lol. Quick question though, not sure if I missed this but can we still use the old theme zips that I already have on my phone with this new version?

It's in the official 12.3.2 thread as a zip file. Try here.

Awesome, best one so far, no random reboots which I usually get when I dock my droid to charge and transfer stuff, so far so good, pretty fast on stock kernel too.

Thank you for this release :D had to go into build prop again and edit the ro.build.description and fingerprint so my paid apps show up (:

Glad market is not cutoff neither, looks great!!

now i wait for themes :D
