Old D1-MIUI-0.12.24.0

Not sure if this would interest anyone, but, I have 12.24, JRizz's UNofficial Mod, chevy's LV 1000 Kernel and SuperCircle battery mod and I updated my apps in the market without a single reboot.

Does this reboot bug only happen running stock MIUI?

Just a FYI for everyone having horrible battery life. If you've changed your build.prop back to FRG22D, then you are more than likely downloading FRG83D OTA, I just caught the OTA in my cache partition right now.

It would explain why some users are complaining about abysmal battery life.

Thank you! Do I type it how you did or am I still pressing enter after su?

Enter as :

$su
#cd /cache/dalvik-cache
#rm *
#reboot

Sorry for the confusion. verify what file contains the dalvik and adjust accordingly

I realize because of another post that the commands above aren't needed for this ROM. However, because you have such a good understanding of these commands, I am wondering if you know of a good source that lists the command structure for the terminal commands. I have such a mixed up list of commands that I have to relearn things every time I use a new command.

Here are three links that may help

Linux Commands - Command Manual
mv - Linux Command - Unix Command
Linux Commands - Command Library - Man Pages

Hope this is helpful.

My Droid was charged to 100% six hours ago. The last 2.5 hours, the WiFi has been on and connected. As of this typing, I am at 85% battery remaining. I have never had this kind of battery life before. So either it is the best build ever for me, or there is a problem reporting battery life.

Plus, I have SetCPU set to 800.

are you using any profiles, and if so what ones.

No profiles. I opened SetCPU, let it get access, increased the max to 800, and closed it. Nothing else.

Still unplugged since 3PM PST on Sunday. Heavy texting today, and theme changing. Down to 50% now. This is a dream come true for me. Since I rooted my Droid, I have never been able to go more than 12 hours without having to recharge.

That's interesting because isn't this rom clocked at 800mhz? So by not having any profiles, setcpu doesn't do anything else right? I ask because I haven't used setcpu with miui yet and wondering if it may help with battery. But its not technically suppose to do anything in helping battery life if you don't have any profiles set right?

I'm not sure. It was down at 550 when I opened SetCPU, then I slid it up to 800.

In my past experience, cranking up SetCPU would kill my battery very quickly. That was the main reason I quit using SetCPU. I loved the speed, but did not enjoy recharging the Droid every six or eight hours.

What kernel are you using to get this great battery life?

That is what I did! The stock in this release is very fast.

What kernel are you using to get this great battery life?

The one that came with the 12.24 release. I did not change it out.

I should also mention it has greatly improved my reception, especially on 3G. There is something magical in the 12.24 kernel. Now watch, someone will come along and say it is the same kernel as always. :)

Has anyone had issues with certain market apps not installing? I did a full wipe when I installed this ROM and everything reinstalled itself from the market except for Angry Birds, Angry Bird Seasons, and Tripit. I was also unable to reinstall these from the MIUI backup I made just before installing 12.24. I was able to reinstall tripit without a problem using Titanium backup.

Are you able to install them from the market and then restore data to them via TiBu?

No, they fail if I try to install them from the market. I actually get an "Installation error" "Unknown reason -18" when they fail.

I'm also having some weird battery life reporting issues but they've been happening for a while on MIUI. My phone just went from 40% to 5% battery remaining in less than a minute.
