Older....Official D1-MIUI-0.12.3.2

I'm starting to see what all the hype was about. This thing is suh-lick! It took me a little while to pore over the User Guide and Theming threads, some time sorting apps and tweaking everything, but it is pretty super cool, and so different than the run-of-the-mill ROM.

Couple things left: where do I put my folder full of ringtone mp3's so they can be used for notifications? And does anybody know when slayher's site will be back up?!? I wanna OC this thing!

Sweet, sweet job devs!

Ringtone locations:
/system/media/audio/ringtones/
/sdcard/media/audio/ringtones/

Notification tone locations:
/system/media/audio/notifications/
/sdcard/media/audio/notifications/

The easiest solution is obviously to put them on the SD card.

Does anyone know if the iPhone theme for the sms app will be included in the actual sms themes? I would really like to have another theme installed and still have the sms themed as the iPhone...

I am sorry if this has been covered, I Looked on forums but could not find anything. I have tried to put a slayer kernal on my droid to go with miui. Every time I it never takes. I have tryed using rom manager. During the attempts I have discovered that I cannot boot into recovery mode, via rom manager or manually. Just always reboots. Also noticed that rom manager says I have a different miui version than my settings shows. Any obvious solution I missed?

Try Quick Boot from the market and see if that allows you to boot into recovery

Nope, none here. Haven't had one even once.

Hmm. why am i still getting them then? I did a clean install and have a stock kernal... any ideas?

I'm really not sure. It didn't do it when I had the stock kernel installed but you could always try another and see what happens.

Glad you got it worked out. Did it fix the lockscreen issue?

Yes, putting the old gallery3d.apk back fixed the lockscreen issue.

I have to say (on a side note) that throwing this ROM on my D1 has definitely given me reason to stick around on Android and to keep my D1 for a while longer. Thanks to everyone who works on this and keep it coming!

You were considering leaving Android?

Not to get off topic, but thought about switching over to the dark side if and when it came out, or at least upgrading to a faster android phone, but I have a renewed happiness with my D1 thanks to MIUI.

Are you receiving an error?

I use SPR so I
Make a Nandroid backup
Download kernel and rename to "update.zip"
Mount phone
Remove or rename any existing update.zip that may be on my SD card
Copy new "update.zip" (kernel) to root of SD card
boot into recovery
install
install (depreciated)
reboot

Hope this is helpful

Mike

I understand man. I don't know what I'm going to do if MIUI doesn't work for other phones. Like the HTC Incredible HD(if that's even it's real name, I stopped keeping up), but I really hope it gets ported to that phone. I think they stopped upgrading it for the Desire

EDIT: Is anyone here familiar with APK Manager? I'm in need of assistance(:

There must be something I'm missing 'cause mine is choppy as hell and I'm oc 1.2 on setcpu. Both homescreen and folder scrolling.

You are probably overclocking too much. Or the kernel you use isn't a good match for your phone.

Download slayer kernel from rm in the liquid frozen yogurt menu...not slayer menu.

I get no error message. When I tried using rom manager to get kernal it went thru the normal motions, pressed ok to reboot. It cycles to the motorola logo twice then boots up. But still has stock kernal. I tried to download approved kernal and do the rename update.zip method, but unable to boot into recovery mode.always just stays a logo screen extended time, then boots up normally.

Flash spr then back to cwm then try again. Or flash older version of cwm

You should just keep SPR. I've never had problems with it. I hear about people having problems with CWR non stop it seems like. To each his own.

But, I have one of two issues with this ROM, this one being, I tried out an app just to mess around with it and uninstalled it. But, my phone keeps adding it back. It doesn't reinstall it but it keeps adding the icon to my screen. But it's the blank white icon showing it's uninstalled, I delete it, prompts me to uninstall it even though it's uninstalled, it deletes it. I'll mess with my phone some and the icon will be back yet again. I think it might be appearing again after every time I boot but it's driving me crazy.
