Older....Official D1-MIUI-0.12.3.2

I just wanted to post this, I was creating some folders and had one of them crash whenever I opened it, so I added another app to it and then I could open it! This might be a bug but this is a workaround. I also had sorted this folder alphabetically prior to the crashing.

I tried it from the liquid location. Same deal, runs thru steps, upon reboot still have stock kernal, as listed in menu (about phone), and in set cpu info still shows stock kernal. Nothing happens different than the many times before when I flashed stuff except don't get the result I need. Also noticed rom manger says I have miui ending in .1 and menu in setting, but I flashed .0 and then .2 as was told. Where did .1 come up.

Did you happen to have both Angry Birds installed in the same folder? I didn't have the crash problem with them being in the same folder until I sorted it alphabetically. I knew it was going to make it crash but I wanted to see what exactly had to be done in order for it to do so and sorting it that way is what it was.

Nope this was just a "utilities" folder, but I do have both Angry birds and Angry birds demo installed, but they are in a Games folder, and I did not sort that one alphabetically.

You should just keep SPR. I've never had problems with it. I hear about people having problems with CWR non stop it seems like. To each his own.

But, I have one of two issues with this ROM, this one being, I tried out an app just to mess around with it and uninstalled it. But, my phone keeps adding it back. It doesn't reinstall it but it keeps adding the icon to my screen. But it's the blank white icon showing it's uninstalled, I delete it, prompts me to uninstall it even though it's uninstalled, it deletes it. I'll mess with my phone some and the icon will be back yet again. I think it might be appearing again after every time I boot but it's driving me crazy.

Found this in the User Guide:

(8) Deleting Apps. Since there is no app drawer, when you drag a shortcut to the trash can it is going to ask if you would like to uninstall.
You may not uninstall system apps in this manner.

Not sure if this is the issue you are having.

Thank you but when I uninstalled it I uninstalled it from the downloads section in Market. I'll check and see if it's still installed but it shouldn't be

EDIT: Nope, it says it's uninstalled and everything. But it still keeps showing up. I thought it was rebooting but I haven't rebooted and it's still appearing

I had the same problem. What I have to do almost every time I install a new kernel or update the rom I HAVE to flash ClockworkMod Recovery over again through Rom Manager. I don't know why but once I redo the recovery I can then get into recovery and flash kernels and roms through Rom Manager.....

A few months ago that was a know problem with RM. I thought it had been corrected. Have you considered switching to SPRecovery? It is available in RM by flashing the alternative recovery tab.

flash clockwork recovery again. Download the kernel to your PC, move to /SD card...boot into recovery manually...install zip from SD card...install it...reboot.

Dont do it through RM. See if that helps. You should flash to SPRecovery through RM, uninstall it...reinstall it from the market. Flash Clockwork mod recovery. Try it again. Or do it manually from the steps above.

+1 for switching to SPR. It's like a problem solver of it's own ha:)

Has anyone had any problems with trying to answer a call? The slider seems to be finicky sometimes, I have to "flick" it several times to get it to answer. Thats been my only real issue with this rom.

Next time that happens instead of just flicking the lockscreen like normal grab it and hold it to the bottom of the screen for a slight moment and it will unlock.

There is a nuance sometimes to the lockscreen response and the phone ringing I haven't been able to figure out yet. I used to miss a call every now and then also.

Mine goes straight to Lockscreen Wallpaper. Could it have anything to do with installing the 3d launcher mentioned in this post? http://www.droidforums.net/forum/team-d1-miui/101608-miui-3d-gallery.html

mine works fine with the new 3d gallery, but its good that you got it sorted out... you could also replace default_lock_wallpaper.jpg in /data/system/theme/framework/res/drawable

Yes that is your problem. That Gallery doesn't allow it, yet.

works fine for me, i think the issue is a combination of things.

Is anyone else still getting annoying fc's when you plug in your phone or during a phone call?

none, no reboots either like others are seeing. you may want to run a logcat and post it on miui-dev or the irc chat.

I am sorry if this has been covered, I Looked on forums but could not find anything. I have tried to put a slayer kernal on my droid to go with miui. Every time I it never takes. I have tryed using rom manager. During the attempts I have discovered that I cannot boot into recovery mode, via rom manager or manually. Just always reboots. Also noticed that rom manager says I have a different miui version than my settings shows. Any obvious solution I missed?

you ever get this figured out? maybe your chip doesnt like the low voltage in the slayher kernel... i'd test a 1ghz medium voltage chevy kernel from the link in the first post.

i sort my folders by frequency of use... haven't had any folders crash that way, even with similar dev names on similar apps.

That's what I'm using but he didn't specify what he used to do it so I wanted to make sure what I tried worked. But what is he talking about uncommenting? I never figured that out

a comment is the # key... to uncomment you simply remove the # key, the # key tells the OS to ignore that line, to OC, you dont want that line ignored.

you only want to uncomment the lines with "echo XX00000 ... " and the XX has to be replaced with the frequency you want to use 1000000 = 1ghz

you do not want to remove any other comments (though you can remove the entire line that has the instructions) except for the last echo line, if you want to run a governor OTHER THAN on demand, you can uncomment that and type "interactive", or "conservative" (or whichever governor you want)

How do I do that, please?

No problem. It's in the market. Just type "quick boot" and the icon will look like the stock recovery triangle and exclamation point. You can reboot, boot into recovery, or boot into the bootloader and create short cuts for each.

Thank DJ! I was thinking there was a series of commands.

you can do

$ su
# reboot recovery

in terminal :)
