OTA Updates Possible Before The 11th?

i wonder if someone were to say that you turn off your droid, and turn it back on, that maybe the update may come through?

i wonder how many people would actually try it out?

i wonder if anyone would actually try it, and then come back and and let us know if it works or not?


and then, after, we could all jump up at the same time, and see if the world gets shaken apart!

(and then, i could go lay back down cause this medicine is really getting to me)

Guys, as far as I can tell this update isn't worth hanging on the edge of your seats for. Yes, we're early adopters, and we always want the latest and greatest, but other than the unlock screen changing and the SMS bug being fixed, I'm not noticing much difference in my day-to-day operation.

If you did get the update it was pure coincidence.

When we get updates for our TiVo DVR's it's just like this and people go nuts. They try having their TiVo phone in hoping it will get the update, but no matter how many times you try it you just won't get it until it's your turn to get it.

Apparently my turn is going to be much later.:r_c:

OMG IT WORKED!!! (no not realy) THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE HELP I HAVE 3.0 NOW!!! (nope not true either). Man its SOOO MUCH BETTER NOW!!! (nothing was broke on my phone anyway). MAN I LOVE THIS!!! (i just wish I had the update now so I could STOP LOOKING AT MY PHONE ROFLMAO)

I am glad to hear they fixed the SMS bug. I was getting tired of the force quits and having to re-boot my phone.

We may be thinking of a different SMS bug. Mine was that there was at least one number that I just plain couldn't send a message to. Doing so would just fail with a sort of generic error message.

I'm telling you all, the best way to get a phone with the update is to keep going back into your local stores telling them that your unit is broken. Just keep going back until you find a unit that either already updated or has the update ready

I have been using the the screen with the "unlock pattern" so I wonder if that is any different. My only complaint about the "unlock pattern" is: there should be an easy a way to flip the phone in to silent mode without unlocking it as there is on the other unlock screen. Technically you can hold down the power button for a second so I guess it isn't toooo bad.

Here is hoping the update is cool, none the less.
