OTA Updates Possible Before The 11th?

I was fooling around on my phone last night, around 9:30pm PST, watching the Lakers, when a message appeared "There is an update available for your phone", ...

The phone does seem much quicker. Not a major update/bug fix, but nice none the less!

(I'm in Los Angeles....)

Dang!

I woke up this morning to have my wife's Droid ready for the update, while mine, which was bought the same day at the same time, as of now, still hasn't gotten the update delivered to it! I did notice that my wife's Droid with the update is quite "Snappier" and I like the way the welcome screen changed.

Come on Verizon!

Where is mine?:icon_evil::icon_evil::icon_evil:

anyone lose contacts during the update?

i lost all my contacts. did anyone else lose theirs? or maybe my droid is just trippin out. can someone help with this? i didn't backup up my contacts list to my myverizon account yet. is there a way i can retrieve my contacts? if not, i just have to manually input them in again which isn't fun!

Don't you have them synched to your GMail account? That's where all of my Droid contacts reside.

Hey Mongoose--

I'll list out the step by step directions as follows:

1. go to phone icon
2. click on the contacts tab
3. click on the menu icon on the phone (next to the left/back arrow key and home key/0
4. click on accounts
5. then under 'manage accounts', make sure the gmail account is on and that you choose to sync all your contacts

hope that works!

Its a glitch...
1. go into your contacts and at the bottom menu pick display options......
2. then pick the account yous use for your contacts.
3. Uncheck the top "system group:my contacts" and check any other box instead below and hit done at the lower left.
4. Now all you can see is the group you picked...
5. Now go back into display options and this time "recheck" "system group:my contacts"........ I don't think it matters if any of the other boxes are checked below.
6. hit done and you should see all your contacts.

I got the update around 1am est.

I have to admit, everything runs a lot smoother but I really HATE the new lock screen.

Droid OTA Update

Got mine @ 5:10am this morning when I woke up. A nice little surprise as I shut off the alarm on my Droid. Hit the except button & it installed in approx. 2 minutes w/ no apparent issues. Definetly is much snappier, though I thought it was fine before the update.

Interesting note;
Before the update I had my screen time-out set to "NEVER". I now notice that the lock screen times out in approx. 10 seconds but does not time out once the screen is unlocked (just as I like it). I went into the display settings to check on the time out setting & noticed that the "NEVER" option is no longer there. In fact, my phone has none of the available options checked. So, does this mean that my "NEVER" setting has been grandfathered in but if I ever change it I will be SOL? weird....

Just to add my 2¢: I got the OTA this morning. It may have been sitting on the phone overnight but I don't think so. The alarm (on the droid went off), and I canceled it, and the display went back to the media station display with the time. Ten minutes later when I looked at it it was saying it had the update.

So either it showed up at 6:30 in the morning, or it didn't immediately pop itself to the front after my alarm was done.

And yes, my Verizon tab has changed to a downloads tab. I did have some downloads. I downloaded some things. It did not immediately change to a Verizon tab, but within five minutes it was back to being a Verizon tab. So I think it's linked to having downloads available (possibly only recent ones). But with some delay so you don't get an immediate change.
