without having any marketing around this phone from VZ, why would they do a pre-order? honestly, my guess is only those of us on this forum and others like it actually know the phone exists so far. until they release this phone or start marketing it a little, only the diehards will know about it.

Sounds like VZW will be last to the big dance....again.
Just read that two carriers in Canada have announced versions of the Gnex. Granted the one said they won't have it until January but atleast their customers know when to expect it. (VZW needs to be taking notes)
Add to that the Europe release and t mobile rumor and big red starts to look really bad.
Mix in the fact that its been said that the device is ready and has met the date set forth by VZW and things really start to look like the same old song and dance.
I was tempted to jump on this day one since I have an upgrade and am now month to month. Now I am not so sure. With other carriers rolling out lte it is only a matter of time before Verizon loses the only real advantage they had to keep me as a customer if they continue to lag behind in the new phone department.
Its quite obvious that they think their bread and butter is the "Droid" line. At the end of the day its just some trademarked tag that they slap on a phone. There are no specs, that I have seen, that a phone has to meet to become a "Droid." The name should be reserved for the high end top tier "game changing" phones. You know, the type that we haven't really seen on VZW in quite some time...

After scrolling thru all these allegations it sudden hit me we are adding so much fuel to the fire that when this phone does drop (god knows) these no way it's gonna meet our expectations and if it has some flaws or plain sucks.. We are gonna feel like idiots :O

Nope! It's going to surpass my expectations, I knew it was going to have a lightsaber, but only till it's released will we find that it changes colors... While lit!!!
Oh... And on the topic of P3, basically, I still haven't listened anything more about him except that even More people hate him!
I know he's a guy with a twitter (always a dangerous sign who owns a couple websites, who spouts rumors, some true, some NOT! So, my question to you all is, has anyone ever thought that some of these guys may actually be Verizon/Google? P3 may just be big red! Which may explain a lot! :O
It would make sense for them to release little rumors, it keeps the ones like us who actually research, entertained and interested.
