If what the OP says is true and they have recorded for blacklisting every phone that has rejected an update there is nothing we can do about it now. Either they'll follow through and cancel contracts or they wont, but unrooting your phone now would not make any difference because they already would have you in their black list, correct? And I don't imagine they would still sending updates to the D1 for this purpose. When was the last D1 update by the way?

I HIGHLY doubt they would cancel contracts. I know you weren't insinuating that but I firmly believe they will send out warnings to people before they take any further action. I think they know it would be foolish to just go and cancel accounts without warning. Imagine the uproar that would cause.
You are probably right, I can imagine the lawsuits when someone needs to call 911 and they can't because their phone was turned off by the carrier without warning.

Even when a phone is not activated it can call 911

Honestly, he probably knows something. It is worth it to probably go back to stock for now if you have a Thunderbolt. Supposedly people are getting 40mb per second download speeds over 4g and VZW is on to it.

I'm staying rooted. If Verizon wants me to pay an ETF or wants to lose my $2k/year then fine. I pay for tethering and other than rooting, I've minded my own business. My minutes renew next week and I've used 500MB total.

yeah who knows what will come of this anyway though. I try to give p3droid the benefit of the doubt but this is starting to get a bit crazy.
