I did that with my og. Same thing happened. That is why I use a Zagg screen protector and keep my phone in a pocket all by itself. No pockets = phone stays home.

A Zagg has a bit of adhesive on it and form fits to your screen. It feels a little sticky but when applied right (I messed up the first by putting it on wrong and partially covering the front facing camera. The second one, I got a piece of fuzz under the film and it bugged the daylights out of me till I replaced it this morning! Third one went on like a charm!) you cannot see it and it really cuts down on glare. The manufacturer provides a lifetime warranty if the screen ever gets scratched with a Zagg protector on it. I like it much better than the stuff that Verizon sells! You just have to be careful when you put it on (not like what I did! ) Little pricey at $20 per screen but you can keep an eye out of sales. Last one was earlier this month and folks were able to save 50%. Here is a link for the Razr.
Zagg and military shield are the same material... but the zagg is textured.. makes it grippy.. sticky.
The military shield is smooth, slick... both are just as strong as the other.
I personally like the cut and fit of the armor suit military shield... I use the military shield and zagg full body kits. And I have em in the defender, with the screen protector pushed out and adhesive cleaned off(very important or you will ruin the screen protector)

I had Verizon's stuff on my DX never a problem, my razr had a Zagg, started coming off at the top of the phone and a opaque smudge right above the answer button ( chemically induced by me) and dirt sticks to it. Razr maxx went back to the Verizon's shield seems a lot clearer than the x had on it. Like them both but my environment dictates which one I use.
