My wife ordered me a pair of A Buds. I missed the chance to get them free even though I knew there was an option.

They're estimating delivery the first week of January. We ordered a Pixel 6 for her at the same time & it's supposed to get here before Christmas.

Not me. Thought about assigning an app to it, but can't decide that there's an app I need that quick access to enough to justify a dedicated gesture.

I never used the fingerprint scanner on the back for notifications either, though.

I see that the Pixel Buds charging case also has its own battery, for charging the Buds when away from a plug-in power source. That's pretty cool. So, does one leave the Buds in the case when not using from day to day, or what?

I have a set of Skull Candy wireless buds that are similar. I leave those in the case when not in use.

Guys. I just set Quick Tap to mute & unmute my phone. I don't put it on vibrate OFTEN, but I sure miss using the power & volume button to do it quickly. Thinking this may help with that if it works (&I remember it next time I need to use it. Haha)

Same here. I'm a little concerned it still won't do exactly what I want.

On occasion, I'm somewhere that I don't want my phone to ring, but I want to know if someone is trying to get ahold of me. So, I put it on vibrate.

Mute puts it on silent & DND. I have my DND setup so people in my contacts can get ahold of me. I use it at night so everything else shuts up, but I can still be reached in an emergency.

To me, if someone in my contacts calls with Mute on, my DND settings will let the call through.

BRB while I steal the wife's phone to investigate...


UPDATE: When I have mute on, the good news is my wife's calls don't ring at full volume. The bad news is, they also don't vibrate. This workaround is better than nothing, but I have young kids & old parents, so even when I don't want my ringer on, I still want emergency calls.

I just recently got in. Kinda reminds me of the good old days around here. Still wish people could figure out the search function, but Google seems to do an OK job at trying to limit duplicate posts.
