The Entire Xbox One Reveal In 1.5 Hilarious, Terrifying Minutes

This clip is hilarious.....

the new kinect is enough reason to get one. i have xbox 360 and only play kinect games on it. new version is such a huge improvement.

i don't see the problem with always on internet or kinect. i have a few pcs in the house which are always on, always on the net and always have webcams accessible which i use to monitor the house when i'm not home. and you can ALWAYS make things do what they're not supposed to do, so if you don't like it always being on, turn it off.

You would be amazed how many ppl really dont have internet access at home. My kids and their mother....none in over a year. Guess that means no Xbox One as a gift for them anytime soon. Of course for those of us that have it 24/7 its no problem.......everyone doesnt have that luxury tho. I'm thinking about those ppl, not me.

As of right now my apt living room is too small for the Kinect to function right. I either have to re arrange my furniture or move to a bigger apt. The way my living room is designed...its not so easy to just move a couch here n there.

http://kotaku.com/xbox-one-does-require-internet-connection-cant-play-o-509164109

Once a day.....even if its once a month..... my kids and their mother wont have this anytime soon. Even if they use their smartphones....they have to either pay for tethering or find a way to get it free just to play this system? Not a good move in the long run by MS. I guess MS is banking on all the Xbox Live Gold users to buy an Xbox One.....

HAHAHAHA! Microsoft you sly devils! Can you guys not see what they're doing? People complain that console games never look as good as they do on PC. So what does MS do? They create a behemoth computer, throw it in a square box, and tell you to buy it. Look at it, it's basically a media PC that connects to your TV...something tech guys have done since TV tuner cards had a decent resolution. What's that, you can't buy used games for it or install the game on multiple Xbox's? Call me crazy but that sounds like something PC gamers have been dealing with since forever.

I'm actually really happy about the serial key for each game being tied to your XBL account honestly. The game studios that make these games only see money when the stores purchase copies of the game initially. Then places like Gamestop just resell the discs over and over and rake in profit. Being a PC gamer (unless you're a pirate) means always supporting the developers for the games you play. Because even if you wait 6 months and buy the game for half price on Steam, the companies that made that game possible still get a cut of that money.

I remember reading more than one article in the past where video game analysts even showed how businesses like Gamestop are a huge part of the reason that a new game costs $59.99, breaking it down and showing that if more people backed the developers and publishers, the cost of the games would in turn decline. This might work out in everyone's favor. How nice would it be to buy a new game for $35 or $40 a pop? That's a free game out of every 2-3 that you purchase.

Game production is at an all-time high. There is no way a Halo, Call of Duty, or God of War could make their money back at $34.99.

I must strenuously disagree. I genuinely think that at LEAST one used copy of a game gets sold for every new copy. Of course, Gamestop will never release numbers like that so it's all speculation.

Either way, I still think this is fantastic news and I hope it's the future of the video game industry. Now if we could just see official keyboard and mouse support from a video game console, I'd be all set to buy one.

Except for the fact that I have loaned pc games to friends for years or shared my steam info. Your argument is invalid and not being able to share games or having to have an internet connection is complete garbage.

If games would cost $5-20 people wouldn't care if they couldn't share. They would just buy a license and go on playing.

If you don't have internet connection in your main residence in this day and age, playing new gaming system should be the least of your concerns. Grab an old gaming system and load up one of its games, that's what I do when I'm out in the rural location with no cable Internet.

There is always tethering to the net through a smartphone, reason why I like unlimited data on Verizon. Even in no man's land I still get strong 4g lte signal :D

You can't be serious... My cousins live in the middle of no where up on a mountain, the only signal they get us barely 3g internet is not up there unless they pay for satellite, which costs more than they are willing to pay. You should not be relegated to a second class gaming citizen just because you live in a rural area and you shouldn't have to move just to be able to play these new systems. It's complete utter bollocks.

If someone wants to buy the new system they should be able to regardless of whether or not they have internet.

I do agree with your first point though

Wow apparently the term always on just went right over your head.

It means that the device must have an active internet connection for use, to even play games. For some people this isn't an option. Want to know what MS said when asked what about those of us in rural areas. They said maybe you shouldn't live out there. That comment alone infuriated me enough to not want the new xbox.

Always on is a horrible concept, same as this whole one game per console bs.

You gotta pay to play. That's with most things in life that are worth having. You can't kill innovation and features just so you can get your product into every household. No internet connection, no play.

So just log into your XBL account on their Xbox then like you did with Steam. Problem solved.

That's garbage, you don't have to pay to play, you already bought the system bought the game and shouldn't have to pay another third party to play, it's not innovation it's a ridiculous concept.

Except that won't work, it says one game per system, it's not account linked it's system linked.

Make it account linked and that's cool

That's not life... If I buy a system AND A GAME I shouldn't have to also buy an internet connection to play UNLESS IT'S AN ONLINE ONLY GAME.

It's not innovation The entire world doesn't have internet and not everyone lives where they can get it.

Why are you so keen on this being the future? Maybe when there is a wireless net surrounding the entire planet and internet isn't a commodity but as natural as air then this concept will work fine. Until then they are pushing quite a few people away.
