Should tell ya at the top of the screen with the indicators or go to settings, then select wireless and networks, then see if wi fi has a check besides it and if it does then wifi is on. But wifi only works if you don't have a wifi around, just in case you didn't know.. HTH
I think you meant that wifi works only if you have a wifi around.
My point was that if both are available, which one is used? If I turn off wifi, I'm going to get the Verizon connection, which isn't always 3G, and changes from second to second.
A suggestion to the app writer: if there's a way to do a wifi, 3g, and non-wifi, non-3g speed test that would be useful. Running the test as is lets you know how the aggregate runs.
What the hect man. Download is SUPPOSE to be faster than upload. Does my phone have a problem with signal? And another thing, it says wifi is less than 50 miles from g'boro and the tower is approx. 200 miles. Eh... That's blah!
I usually get around 20 megs downstream on my laptop through wireless N.
EDIT: Just ran the test on wifi on my laptop, funny thing is the upstream isn't much better than the phone!
3G sitting inside my house with a not-so-great signal (still not too shabby!)
I decided to retry the speedtest since I am on Froyo and also upgraded the app. I noticed a big change on my speeds for the better. Not sure what is the reason why, but faster is better
