I've never pre-ordered a phone, but I am set on getting the Nexus. If you're like me, I'm impatient. Based on your experience, is it better to pre-order and secure your purchase, or wait until release day and go to the store to get it? I've got a Verizon store a mile away from me, but I don't know if I want to rely on their inventory. I'm assuming by pre-ordering, you get the phone a day or two after release day? Thanks for any suggestions.

I've never pre-ordered either, and I want this phone in my hands STAT! therefore I will be at the store dark and early. I hope they open at 6am and I will again be the first in line as I was for my O.G droid, which will now be retired in hopefully no more than 18 days! From my reading I will have the nexus anywhere from Nov.10th-17th..please be sooner than later. I am losing my mind

I hear you, I was first for the OG Droid at my Verizon too. Will be parked outside for this one too. Haven't been this excited about a launch in a while

As much as I would love to get either the Razr or Nexus on release date to replace my Droid 1, I'd rather wait a few weeks and see the fallout from both releases. It's not worth it to me to rush out and buy when I know I'll be keeping this next phone for 2 years. I was patient enough to wait out the Bionic so I'm used to waiting.

Doubt it. Storm, storm 2, DROID x, thunderbolt, bionic. Plenty of stock at my local stores.
You guys really think the Nexus is going to sell out in stores? I tell people that Im getting the Nexus and they ask "Whats that?". Theres been no TV ads and just a youtube event that us dorks watched.

It depends how the store does sales wise, not every store is going to get 30+ phones if they aren't going to move it based of their sales numbers. I read a lot of people went to stores near them and the Bionic was sold out, even Costco only had 6 Bionics on launch day. I think this phone has way more hype than the Bionic due to ICS on the G-Nex out of the box.
I believe within the next week or so there will be advertisements galore for the G-Nex. A pre order will at least guarantee you'll be getting the phone the week of release rather than waiting for the store to stock more and hope the second trip in is successful.

Not if they sell their Bionic to buy the G-Nex off contract. People do and probably will be doing this.
