Preparing for The Ultimate Droid 1.0.0

Does anyone make an update.zip from titanium to restore apps? i haven't used that option yet, but it sounds real easy and fast.

Update all your apps.
Do a complete Titanium Backup.
Make a Titanium Update.zip.
Flash Rom then Titanium.
Tap the corners to avoid Google activation.
Full restore from Titanium.
Reboot.
I'm not sure if it will ask you to activate w/Google but go ahead if it does.

Finished.

Have you done this before? I have tried those exact steps and phone reboots as soon as you hit restore. I'm pretty sure you need to login with google account first.

^ +1 Fastest way to restore apps with data if they are all stored on phone. I still use TB because I also like to restore system data.

That may be. When I did it, I forgot about about bypassing the Google login. As soon as it activated, I flipped it to airplane mode (stopping any market or other automated activity), then did my restore. That worked fine for me. I just thought the right way would be to bypass the Google login.

What, exactly, does this restore?

Apps? Accounts? Log-in info? Bluetooth pairings etc.?

If apps, where does it put them?

Thanks.

I think the Google login is needed to "activate" market and app installation. Not 100% sure but that's what I have always needed to do.

In regards to the Titanium back-up, do you back up all apps and system data?

Will it restore everything, even the apps back to the SD card?

Thanks.

Titanium will backup and restore everything, Even WiFi & Bluetooth settings, to the same location they came from.
(There is a prefrence setting for that last part "Force to same location")

you may want to pay attention to exactly what it restores. It will overwrite themed apps that were included in the Rom. I deselect all red text (system services wo/useful data). Most of the time, that will restore what you want wo/overwriting themed apps.

And this procedure should work the same with any Rom.
Even between Roms with another setting "Migrate system data".

after you restore data your phone is back to its previous state no sign in (bookmarks, prevoious calls, texts msg info game info , everything is restored) Its just what i do and it always works for me (thanx cakes!)
