Privacy Blocker/Inspector by Xeudoxus

Quick question. I'm about to buy the app, but in the permissions, it says it needs the ability to modify the contents of your SD card, thats fine. It needs full internet access, fine too as I assume it downloads a new database from time to time for new apps or something. But why does it need access to my contacts?

Look at post #18 on the 2nd page.

purchased, downloaded, and installed no problems. This program looks VERY well put together. The interface is clean and easy to follow. The instructions are very helpful, a nice tutorial to highlight the different aspects of this app.

I tried to fix Angry Birds, it did its thing then at the very end of Step 7 it had a f/c. I'll try some other apps and see how those do.

Just purchased for my Droid, and will also be purchasing for my wifes Fascinate.

Very cool APP. Great work!

Just purchased from the market. Got the email for purchasing it and now stuck on "authorizing purchase" and will not download :(

The "new" market is terrible. When I bought it, it just said purchased, didn't even download it. I have to download almost every app 3 or 4 times before it actually starts to download.

Try going into Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> Market -> All -> click "clear data" and then reboot.

Just paid for it and downloaded it. Scanning seems to work fine, however it keeps failing when trying to fix on all of the programs I've attempted to fix. Any ideas of what I might be doing wrong. It goes through 5 steps of the 7 but then a red bar pops up saying it was unsuccessful.

Send me a logcat, that seems odd for it to do it on every app.

So other people can see problems/solutions please post them here http://www.droidforums.net/forum/xeudoxus/131027-support-privacy-blocker.html (Not everyone check the news post)

Thanks,

I'll try that out, thanks!

Xeudoxus is rich. A whole whopping $100 in a night. I expected more downloads though. It will catch on more.

It is only a matter of time. It just hit the front page of droid-life.com. Wait till a site like Engadget shows it off. ;)

Thanks man, I actually did read all the comments, but managed to miss page 2. Probably clicked on the 3 by accident and didn't catch it.

I need more than 15 minutes to decide if i want to keep it.
Was somewhat slow to scan an app ( few minutes).
Not sure if it was acting up or if it really takes that long to scan.
Darn that return policy.

Purchased. Oh, and to anyone having issues downloading, use the website on your computer if you can market.android.com Its so much better. Clicked purchase and immediately started to download on my phone.

Sorry for multiposting but no editing allowed on these ones. Is there going to be a problem with the developers making these apps that your app 'fixes' since it is modifying their code? I love the app, but i can see it pissing others off. Is it legal to alter their code, even slightly, to make it less unsecure to me?

Your altering the code yourself. The app has to be told what app to modify and to do it. Kind of like a gun/weapon. Smith and Wesson doesnt get thrown in jail for making the gun, only the shooter. Not that altering the code is illegal. Just keep it on your personal droid and you'll be good.
