PSX4Droid => General Discussion

Will we ever get a psp or n64 emulator for androids???...but i guess having playstation emu. Is one small step for man we have yet to see one giant leap for droidkind! Cant wait to see how playstation Emulators run on a droid. :))

I wouldn't hold your breath on a psp emu, the psp has 2, 333mhz cpus and a 166mhz gpu, I'm pretty sure the droid can't handle emulating all of that unless the cpu instruction sets are extremely similar.

he's got a point but his math equals a moto droid (overclocked) = win... i would think at least the moto droid could run n64 and ps1 roms ez...

the fact that it's taken someone months and months to get an emulator? concerning...

we'll see....

He's been coding a Pandora, Android and ipad emulator at the same time, hence the delays. He just finished Psx4pandora the other day which means the focus will be on Android and the iPad.

Oh and I take back what I said about the Droid being superior. I shouldn't say anything if I don't fully know what I'm talking about :S

Update

Yong just sent me a reply:
We are still trying to improve the performance.
The on-screen controls will have the same style as that of my other emulators.
It works well on the Nexus One, either 2.1 or 2.2.

I got a question....if psx emu. Is gonna run strictly on cpu. How much is that cpu gonna need to run on a droid I haven't went back to root scence sholesmodder so I'm running stock is that gonna be ok for a moto droid??...

The test device is a nexus one that has a stock 1ghz processor. Motorola droid has a 550mhz processor from stock that can be overclocked to higher. I'd suggest overclocking if your looking for a similar emulation experience to that of the nexus one.

I say we stop commenting on this thread until one has actual news about the progress about the emulator... I don't mean to be disrespectful, I just don't want to keep giving myself mini heart attacks because someone posted what they can't wait to play and it has nothing to do with the emulator's progress... and for any psx-emulating addicts that come here because of my post to find out no new information, I would like to sincerely apologize.
