Questions regarding overclocking...

Holy Crap! I just downloaded JRummy's app (was able to find the detailed instructions I needed) and overclocked to 1.2 Ghz scaling frequency at Ultra Low Voltage. I know it can go higher, but DAMN!, massive difference. The speed increase is very noticable. Then I used the SetCPU to maintain the low frequency when the screen is off. Gonna let it run for a day or two before I set it all to persist on boot. Thanks for all the help DroidDoes, I appreciate it.

Awesome!! Enjoy! And you're welcome! :dancedroid:!

I've been running mine for 3 or 4 days now on 1.3 ULV with no problems.

To learn more on overclocking, find Abe21599 and follow the links in his sig!

Have you noticed significant battery life decrease at that frequency and voltage? Mine seems to be draining slightly faster but I can't tell for sure.

there is an EXTENSIVE thread on overclocking and SetCPU. They guy that wrote this is incredibly knowledegable. It's actually a little frightening how much effort this guy put into this amazing research. He also provides good baseline suggestions for a set of profiles to manage your CPU through your various daily activities and battery levels.

I've only been trying to follow his instructions for the past 24 hours so I cannot report definitive results yet, but the theory behind his work and recommendations is sound.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm gonna check it out.

Yeah, that's a great thread, it helped a lot when I started overclocking.
As for myself, I used jrummys' app and played around with the settings, I found my phone is stable at 1.35GHz ULV, and it does seem to have increased my battery life by a fair margin.

Really? Man it seems like my baattery is draining noticebly faster. Would you mind sharing your settings with me for both jRummy's app and SetCPU?
