Can the digital copy of the Blu-ray movie be used instead of DVDs?

No. The digital copy on a bluray movie is only comapatible with iTunes or Windows Media Player connected devices.

There are some options for these files though. Please click on "Search" at the top of this forum, and search for "Digital Copy" for more details.

Well I tried the trial version of the did not work for me. Every DVD I tried failed in the status area it would only say inbetween files, some trailers did work but the video was choppy at best. However, the trailers supplied in the user manual were great. Maybe its my Toshiba laptop or windows XP.

For DVD to Droid or Video to Droid, you just start the program, select the Droid profile and click Go.

If it mentions "inbetweenfiles" you do not have a Droid profile selected but a Windows Mobile one, or the conversion format in the settings for the profile were changed somehow.

The manual explains everything in full detail for these formats, and for specific Windows Mobile phones additional profiles are provided as well.

There is an "Email us" link at the top that you can use to contact me directly if you have any questions, and this actually provides me with some information on the profile you have selected. You can send me an email at [email protected] and provide me with some info in regards of what device, what DVD, and I can help you out.

Nope, it was set to Verizon / DroidHQ. Nothing else had been changed, it just dosent work for me.

Make sure in "Modify" the conversion format is set to "h264_ipod_hq"
If it mentioned inbetweenfile, it is most likely set to "wmv9_wma_wme" or "h264_psp2" It automatically selects the proper format when you select the profile, so selecting a different profile and changing it back to droid hq will set it correctly.

I'll check it and send you a e-mail.

I received it, working on the reply.
I am adding some screenshots, and a link to the small testclip I did where I took the screenshots from.

email sent (and bounced back)

It works!! I finally got it right, I don't know what I was doing wrong, but by George, I got it! I now just need to upgrade my old sucky laptop to a faster one with better processing power to make the conversions faster with the HQ or HQ2 settings. Sometimes the standard Droid setting can stutter abit. But, I'm happy with the results and ready to purchase the full version. DVDCatalyst is much, much easier to use than other choices out there short of just downloading someone else's converted movies (which I'm not sure is legal).
Thanks to DVDCatalyst and their support!:icon_ banana::icon_ banana::icon_ banana::icon_ banana:

I'll be placing my order for the full version later today or by tomorrow at best. I'm just impressed by the quality of transfer just in the trial version and the fast response time of the developer in resolving issues or just answering general questions that makes this purchase a no brainer.:)

Ok when i get home I am getting DVDcat, cause I have tried so many starting AVS, I have had some audio/video syn problems...

But my main question is: What video player are most folks using on the Moto Droids?
I had problems with ivideo and syn problems with the the stock one...

any help would be greatly aprreciated.

Sync issues are usually either related to the conversion tool used, or if you are using an overclocked rom.

For video playback most people are using either the stock Gallery app (which doesn't display filenames) or Act 1

I just wanted to say thanks. I went ahead and got the DVD Catalyst 3 software just a couple minutes ago. so far so easy.

But I also want to show off HQ movies on Droid and I also watch them on my Droid at night cause my wife can't sleep with the TV on...

So what are your recommendation for setting to achieve HQ Movies?

I really appreciate any help I can get. Thank you I am really excited about this software and the experience I am going to enjoy..

Thank you,

For the best possible quality (for show-off purposes in my opinion), use the Droid HQ2 profile. It uses the maximum settings the Droid can handle, and to get an idea of what it looks like, visit my Movie Trailer thread on your Droid, and tap on one of the MP4 links. Most of them are done using the HQ2 profile.

My own preference is the standard Droid profile though. The quality is not perfect (but still quite good) and basically uses half the file-size of the HQ2 profile, so you can put 2x as much video content on the same storage media.
