[ROM] [RELEASE] Steel Droid: 5.0 Gingerbread - 1-11-2013

I used the phone with moderate use. That's with texting, browser, facebook messenger, Droidforums, xda && all that going. So whenever screen was on, it was being used. JuiceDefender has alot to do with battery saving as well.

So after a couple of days running Steel Droid.. Synergy themed.. here are some stats..
I've had the phone off the charger for almost 4 hours and I'm essentially at 90% still. Pretty darn good.

The theme shouldn't change the battery usage, should it?
As opposed to plain steel droid?

So I have been looking into this safestrapper, as it seems to me this Is more for someone who is frequently switching ROMs, is this correct?
As the D3 is my first experience with android and I am extremely happy with steel droid and have never wanted to change, safestrapper isn't really something I should bother with.

Speaking of, any word on V4.0?

Chevy is currently working on Steel Droid v9 for the OG Droid, once he's done with that he'll be working on v4. You guys will love it though. :)

I know Chevy was also working on CM7?

He mentioned v.4 would not be as fast released as 2 to 3 was

I love the fact that Chevy is still developing for the OG Droid. I loved that phone and my daughter is still using it.

I can't seem to get the calendar to work with SD3..It just FCs. Does anyone have a fix for this?

ETA: Nevermind, I reflashed SD3 and the calendar works fine now.

If i already have 5.6.890 installed do I just go to the step of rooting the phone and continuing?

1: Download the 5.6.890 SBF file HERE
2: Download RSDLite 5.5 HERE
3: Extract the contents of the SBF file to a folder on your computer
4: Install RSDLite
5: Boot the Droid 3 into bootloader by holding both Vol+ & Vol- at the same time when powering the phone on
6: Select "AP Fastboot" and press Vol+ to select it
7: Select the XML from the extracted SBF file in RSDLite
8: Connect the phone, and when it says "Connected", hit "Start"
9: Wait for the phone to finish flashing, and booting (it will reboot a couple times, leave it alone, its supposed to!)
10: Install and run Petes Motorola Root Tools. Download it HERE
11: Follow the instructions in the app to root your phone
12: Once rooted, use Koush's Droid 3 Bootstrap app to install CWM Recovery
13: BEFORE you use the bootstrap, mount "USB Mass Storage" on your phone, and copy my ROM to the INTERNAL STORAGE (drive label is "MOT")
14: Now open the bootstrap app, click the top button FIRST, then once successful, click the bottom button to go into recovery
15: Go to "install zip from sdcard", then "choose zip from internal sdcard", then select my ROM's zip file
16: After it installs, back out and reboot the phone

If you are already on the 5.6.890 system you can just flash Steel Droid v3 over it via CWRecovery.

Butt dialed from my hamburger phone

I see you've already jumped the hurdle you mentioned, I had this problem too, but looked for a few calendar apps and just tried 'em til I found one that works. If you need the name of it, lemme know?

What's the chance of getting one of those 4-way power options from the power button (reboot, reboot in recovery, power off, etc).
Miss that from the D1. I am loving this rom and think it would make it even sweeter..
