[ROM] [RELEASE] Steel Droid: 5.6 - Ice Cream Sandwich - 6-8-2012

Hi all,

I've been running v5.6 for a month or so now, and everything was working fine for a while, but now I've run into a few issues:

• GPS rarely works.
• Physical keyboard stops working every once in a while. Need to reboot to fix.
• Sometimes I lose audio in phone calls. For example, I'll call someone, and it'll connect, but I can't hear them and they can't hear me. Need to reboot to fix this also.

Anyway, since none of these things are listed as known bugs, I want to get back to stock to see if they continue, and if they do, then I can get a replacement phone from VZW.

And this is where I'm stuck. I can't figure out for the life of me how to get back to stock. All of the simple solutions seem to be Windows only solutions. I'm pretty sure I found a way to do this when I first installed the SteelDroid, but I can't seem to find it now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

PS - Here's my phone info:

Baseband version: N_03.18.32P

Kernal version: 2.6.35.7-g5fa4155 xrpk47@il93lnxdroid25 #1

Build number: Steel Droid ICS (D3) 5.6

Also, if you haven't already, try reflashing the ROM. I experienced this a few times on my Droid 3 and flashing it dirty again usually solved my problems. Beware, it could mess things up.. but I never had that problem personally. You could always make a back up to be safe, too.

And dang! I haven't been around the Droid 3 section in a long time. Glad to see there's still support. I'm running this on my Droid 3 right now (which I use for a media device now).

The loss of phone Audio is a known bug with all ICS builds.

End the call, turn bluetooth on, wait about 10 secs, turn bluetooth off, and then make you call, the audio will be back

That's why I stay with CM7. Works perfect for what I need the phone for and battery is awesome. Just saying

okay so this isnt the only rom that does this but i get through wiping and everything then i flash the rom and reboot and i get a black screen. can someone please help. 5.7.906 safestrap

That's a common glitch with safestrap. Usually just by pulling the battery out then back in fixes it for me. Hope that helps

My 2 cents:

On my unlocked chinese 883 everything works, GSM phone, SMS and 3g data on AT&T works after tweaking build.prop.

The only thing that doesn't work for me is the notification LED. Tasker can turn it on but it doesn't flash for missed calls, txts, email, etc.

Anyone else have this problem?

I´m using this rom and I really like it...but...is there any way I could make the VIDEO CAM to work?
I´m really dissapointed that CAMERA works, but VIDEO CAM Isn´t.

also...I can see that MOD VERSION is aokp_solana_build-35
is there any way I could update this build 35 to a newer build that could also help on this VIDEOCAM issue (or maybe improve HW Codecs?)

I've downgraded to SD 4.8 until the new SD 5.x is released. When will the new SD 5.x come out? Not to rush you, but I was hoping last week or this week, we'd see something. SD 5.6 (ICS) runs a little faster than SD 4.8 (GB), but the device support is just not there (BT, Camera slow, no Video, Wifi dropoffs).

Actually I have a full backup of Haters gonna Hate v4 OCed 1.1 GHz that is running smooth with everything working (no limitations at all).
That´s why I´m asking about these in SD 5.6
1) could I make the VIDEOCAM to work in any way???
2) could I update this aokp build 35 to a newer build???

This really blows. lol I cant get ANY kexec-based build to actually.....BUILD! It never makes it all the way through. Im not sure how anyone else is getting them up and running, but I cant, no matter what I do. Really starting to bug me.
