Same for me, jackie... before and after ICS. I go into settings and clear image cache, which fixes it until I close out and go back in again.

I can see tha avatars. I would recommend doing a factory reset after the upgrade.

I did one before the upgrade and will probably do it again but the same thing was happening on gb so I don't think it is an ICS problem.

I installed ICS yesterday but there are a few quarks that i dont like.
1. The caps doesn't seem to work.
2. Cant show only contacts with phones.
3. There are two separate apps for phone and contacts.
4. When someone calls their name is way up at the top corner in small letters.
5. When your in the favorites you have to open the contact to call, there isn't a phone button to push.
6. The keyboard seems to be smaller or more crowded.
Well that's all i can think of right now. I'll add more as i find them. Everything else seems like it works great though.

For your number 5 complaint: there are 2 ways to call quickly. If using the favorites widget, just hit the phone number to call directly. If you use the phone app (not the people app) and you click on the favorite's picture it will call them. Hope that makes sense! Not sure if that's what you were looking for.

i DO get what you mean
but, quite frankly, for most of us who "LIKE" the way our phones are already set up..... doing a FACTORY RESET is out of the question
yes, i know, it's no different than starting over with a new phone... but, i don't want to have to do a factory reset just because a new operating system is in place
in fact... there is no reason on earth they should have released ics IF a full factory reset was necessary to get your phone working "properly" again after installing it

So my initial experience with Ice Cream Sandwich.
Starting from the unlock screen, there's a circle with a key in the middle, you have four options to unlock, phone, camera, txt, calling
Home screen you have a new YouTube widget, you scroll threw it now 3D. (go in your apps and click on the top right button that says widget to get all possible widgets for you're home screen) long hold on the background will give you the option to Change the background. Bottom of your screen has five functions instead of four. You can group any apps together, even on the bottom of type screen,i did twitter+ msg+Fb+Skype. Apps are re designed as far as there appearance goes. Google widget looks sleek. You can swip away notifications by Swyping them to the sides. And on the bottom of you're notificationpage it says Vz in blue your battery is now blue and the time, if you have the temp displayed its small!!! XS.
So far i love it !! Still discovering new functions and its amazing.
Razzorboys Review. Peace

You can back up your apps and take screen shots of your home screens to use as a reference to set them back up the same way. Setting your phone back up after an fdr takes a few hours and well worth it to take advantage of the better optimization that ICS gives us. A few hours time to get the best from your phone is much more satisfying than suffering through old gb bugs.

i guess i can't argue with that line of reasoning

I am the first to admit, I resist change. If I like something - T stick with it. So, when ICS hit I had my typical "reaction" yuck Gimme back what I had. Then I shut up and begrudgingly I start to experiment. I messed around with ICS non-stop from yesterday morning (Saturday). My phone had been off the charger since 4:00 pm Friday. I just had to charge it 2:00pm SUNDAY Afternoon. It's already back to 70% in about 1.5 hours on the wall charger.

I'm pretty amazed. I am really digging a lot of the new features. My advice, Play with it. Give it a chance and see what you think after a couple days.
IF you are experiencing issues try a FDR and cycle 100-15-100 charging.

Only because sometimes its not done properly by the software update. Especially going from GB to ICS. I have seen this with different OS versions with different phones for the past 2 years. Many EVO owners had a better experience with Froyo and probably GB after doing factory resets. There are times when its needed for issues. I lost internet completely on my Droid X1 last year, just out the blue.....factory reset fixed it.

If someone is having issues with their phone after the update.....I would do it just to rule out anything crazy happening during and after the update that might have caused it. I would also do a factory reset as a last resort after trying some other things first.

I've had ICS on my Transformer for a while and loved it on there so I had high hopes for it on my RAZR. I love it, only complaint I've had is I can't seen to find a way to lock the notification volume with the ringer volume like I could in gingerbread. This is extremely annoying and I hope they fix it (and option to lock or not like before would be awesome!).

I've been totally unplugged from the outside world for the past several days. No WiFi, cell coverage, etc -- absolutely nothing. Knowing that ICS was about to be rolled out to the masses as I was leaving, I was really looking forward to updating my phone when I got home. Had I known what it would do to my phone, I wish I never would've returned.

I installed ICS on two devices last night -- both with nearly a full charge before downloading. My wife's Razr had approx 50% battery when we went to bed -- it completely died overnight. Although my Maxx didn't die, it's been draining much much faster than normal.

We had exceptional battery performance on GB. Now it downright sucks. I haven't had the time to go through all of the posts and possible solutions since I've been back, so I know I've got some reading to do. I don't know if it takes a while for the phone to "settle down" or what, but at this point I can say I'm not thrilled at all.
