Just tried Vidiom. Yes it does help with the audio levels, but that is all it does. As far as a video recording app it fails. It is designed around being able to shoot some video and upload it. All sort of setup for You Tube, Facebook, Twitter, sending via FTP, etc. There is NO on screen record button, you have to open menu to hit record. It disables the zoom that works with stock app by the volume buttons. The recorded video does not end up in the phones Gallery, you have to open Vidiom app and use it's gallery. Nothing good about this at all.

So, if I get this right, if we turn off Settings --> Call --> Voice Privacy (uncheck this) then the audio will be better for video?

That said, I've taken several videos and haven't noticed a problem with them.

Just tried this and still did not help. Man this really sucks.

Ya, it doesn't help. Voice Privacy has more to do with encryption than the working of audio in the phone.

I'm sure a solution will arrive. I say this because the Vidiom app does fix the audio, it's just a poor video app in itself because it is aimed at a specific target use of social media sharing not making a good recording.

I tested it simultaneously with my wife's Incredible.

Thunderbolt: Barely audible

Incredible: Could it hear it 15 feet away
