HP and torque are 2 different things, but you probably know that.

My truck has over 800ft lbs and the tires suffer from it.

Electric certainly puts it down faster and more efficiently. I was watching a short part of the Formula E race at Long Beach, very interesting, sounds all wrong with the electric motor whine, and having to change cars for charging, but it's interesting.
