Do I need the android SDK (not sure what that is) downloaded on the desktop.

Go into the Android SDK folder it should be in your OS C:\ folder and go into the Android SDK folder and hold shift and right click on the side of the window and click open command prompt

I dont believe I have SDK, google turns up nothing but 64 bit stuff. I'm on a 32bit Vista. You have a source for download?

You needed sdk to unlock your phone i believe atleast i used it but here Android SDK | Android Developers

He already did I believe and I think you do need sdk for it cause I returned mine to stock and I used adb commands

You don't need pdanet just install what was on the link and open my computer and open the os folder and drag and drop it in

You don't need to install the SDK. The adb and fastboot exes are inside that folder with the restore files. Everything you need is in there.

5- Dbl click on GNexRestore.bat and follow the prompts.

ok hold on here are you unlocked or locked? let's start from step 1

ok turn your phone off hold volume down volume up and power to go to bootloader and at the bottom of the screen it will tell you your lock state
