[ROM] [ROM-AOSP] Official CM10.1 (JB 4.2.2) [NIGHTLIES]

I'll look more into the MMS issues. :/

Some more info on the MMS issue, or less info, probably. I wiped cache's and installed the new build (1/29) just a few minutes ago and now MMS's are working again. I'll keep an eye on it and try to remember any changes I've made right before it stops working (if it stops working) again just in case it's something weird, but for now, it's no longer an issue.

If MMS is still working when I go on call tomorrow afternoon, I'll leave this ROM active and see if I can use it for the week.

I'm not quite sure what "doesn't" work in this ROM other than Bluetooth and camera flash. Bluetooths is kinda a pain for me since I sometimes like to use it for audio in my car (I can get away with speaker phone in my car most of the time) but since I just bought a new truck, I'll have some time with XM before that expires and I'll be desperate for it. As for the camera flash (not sure if I'm the only one who has the problem) the upside is that I don't generally need the flash on my camera since most pictures I take are during daylight hours and I'm not a photo snob so I can live.

Anyway, thanks for the great work.

On the 1/23 build for me, on my clean install, MMS worked and I had an option to enable Group MMS in the stock AOSP Messaging app (perfection!)

After a reboot, MMS stops working and the option for Group MMS disappeared from the settings menu completely.

May want to try a dry run and reboot it once to see if it still works for you after that :)

So I read this and decided that, even though I didn't want to really do this, I would try it. Since I had just succesfully sent an MMS message jsut before the restart and have only replied to another text message, I figured this would be pretty safe. I was wrong.

So I selected reboot recovery and the phone just hung on "rebooting". So I power cycled the phone, booted into recovery, wiped cache and dalvik cache and rebooted into system and tested sending an MMS again. This time, success!

Obviously, there is something going on here that screws up the caching, but I'm not good enough to even know how to look at that. If anyone wants to tell me where to look to find the caches and Dalvik Cache, I can try to poke at it and see what changes between reboots to cause it to screw up. Or if someone else wants to look into that, feel free.

Re: Unofficial CM10.1/JB 4.2.1 ROM Development [01/29: UPDATES]

This is probably a stupid question, but how do I put the ROM in install slot 1? I don't understand how to work this new Safestrap.

When you restart your phone enter safestrap. From the main menu click the rom slots option (top left) it'll show you your stock slot as well as 4 custom slots. Click on slot one and set it up if you haven't already. Whenever you want to switch slots, select it from the list and tap activate. It should show you what's active in the top status bar.

Now everything you do will be applied to that slot. Go ahead and flash the rom and gapps normally.

Okay, that's exactly what I did. Does it matter how much memory I allocate to the slot? I'm still not booting via this way, that's why I was wondering if I did it incorrectly. I allotted 3 GB to it.

EDIT: Now my phone screen is black but turned on, and nothing seems to be responsive... not sure what I'm doing wrong. Going to hard reset it and try again.

EDIT 2: Worked this time for some reason.

FWIW, I don't think the reboot recovery option works for SS at the moment.

Do you have an option for enabling group mms in your messaging app after rebooting/clearing cache?

As a stopgap, one could write a script to obliterate dalvik at boot. I'm looking into that, but I'm tired, so, posting that idea now, if someone else wants to take it and run with it, feel free, if not, I'll figure this thing out tomorrow afternoon and share a fix, assuming it works.

Re: Unofficial CM10.1/JB 4.2.1 ROM Development [01/29: UPDATES]

I no lie have the most recent running in slot 2 (didn't mean to install it over Cm 10, long story). And I don't see any real major bugs yet. Only gripe is the blank screen when in a phone call or when I pull from my head. Aside from that this is now DD able for me. Keep up the good work.

yeah reboot stopped working for me back on the 1/17 build i believe. just hangs on the rebooting popup.

my only issues:

1. does not detect when docked. does it work for anyone else?
2. bluetooth obviously
3. mms after a reboot stops working
4. on certain wiki networks i now have to manually refresh my apps. they no longer do so to check email and other internet stuff. the text messages work fine because they come from the carrier

Love the ROM so far, but have a couple issues. Looks like one or two are known.

1. No MMS still as far as I can tell.
2. Having some issues with the lock screen custom settings not matching my actual lock screen
3. Final issue is a weird one. Every time my phone goes to portrait from landscape, every icon in my drawer bar decides to stack on top of each other. Attached a picture to show what happens; obviously, this one is the most annoying: imgur: the simple image sharer

Overall though, great work, amazing ROM.

Re: Unofficial CM10.1/JB 4.2.1 ROM Development [01/29: UPDATES]

I can independently confirm that wiping Dalvik and rebooting fixes MMS (until the next reboot). It also reenables the group MMS setting that disappears on reboot.
