Does Google wallet work on 2.2 and 2.3? Does the NFC lock you out?

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using DroidForums

Worked for me twice today on 2.2. Just flashed 2.3 and I'll let you know when I get a chance to use it. Also, read everything you can on GW as there are ways to limit your chances of locking you out.

As a side note, I had it installed on stock/unlocked/rooted and it worked fine. After flashing 2.2 and using the included version, it would say sent but didn't actually go through on the register. (Also nothing was deducted from my account) I then removed the ROM GW using TiBackup and installed the original APK I used and used TiBackup to restore the data I had backed up before the flash. After that it worked just fine. So I followed the same steps when I flashed this ROM.

4g is working fine for me. When I select CDMA only instead of LTE/CDMA, I only get 1x. Was able to ping Google but no 3g.

Guess I didn't give it long enough. 3g is working for me. Posting this right now with 3g. 4g/wifi disabled.

I don't see the value of trebuchet. What is the advantage?

I am also interested in having the Google search bar on my default home but not on the other home screens. It is either on or off with trebuchet.

The value of trebuchet is launcher auto rotate, as well as changing the number of homescreens, resize any widget (even if the stock launcher wont allow resizing them). Personally I rather have trebuchet because of resizing widgets...and auto rotate (because I use the car mount which is horizontal)

Also, in trebuchet you can remove the search bar persist. This will give you a 4x5 workspace. If you want the search only on one screen, just use the google search widget after removing search bar persist under trebuchet settings.

To access trebuchet settings, open app drawer and touch 3 dots top right corner and select trebuchet settings. (if you didnt already know)

to my understanding wallet working and the "secure element" error are separate from the OS, so if wallet works (the apk), then it should work in this rom. I personally dont use it anymore because I got the error.

NFC is separate from the secure element. Wallet gave me the secure element a while back...so I dont use it anymore, but android beam/nfc still works.

IMO...google/samsung shouldve chose the nfx nfc chip W/O a secure element. cause its quirky as hell.

Your best bet is not to use wallet at all until the official one is released, or ISIS...when its released. Or...take the risk of using wallet and getting the secure element error at some point in time for reasons unexplained.

Its not exactly clear what triggers it to my understanding (I havent been keeping up with it though, so may not be the latest info).

But...YES...if you want to use wallet...this rom is not going to keep you from using it.

I've been running 2.3 for less than 24 hours and twice the phone has shutdown on its own and I had to do a battery pull to turn it back on. Both times i hadn't been using it when it shut down. I was turning it on and it wouldn't turn on.

I'm using setcpu and clocked at 1350 and 350/920 with screen off.

I just noticed that "Mediaserver" is using a large percentage of my battery all of a sudden (hadn't noticed doing that until now). I googled it and saw several different theories about it. Does anyone else notice that issue? Any thoughts on it?

dont overclock

There really is no need for setcpu unless you want to undervolt. Interactive X on IMO kernels have native profile for screen off/sleep to underclock to 700...so you dont need a profile for it at all.

Its already undervolted too..so personally I dont feel the need to push it anymore than it is. It runs fine as is. IMO...delete setCPU...reboot...dont use setcpu.

Okay now I've turned the screen off three times in a row and it won't turn back on. I had light flow blinking once but couldn't power the screen on. I've spent more time pulling the battery than ever. Changed setcpu when screen is off to 700 min but that obviously didn't help
