[ROM] [BETA] CyanogenMod 7 for Droid 2

Idk if you guys know it yet but Dolphin Mini is working on 32 with no FCs. Just in case anyone was still using something else because they thought it didn't work

The CM7 for Droid 2 Kernel is Froyo, because of the locked bootloader in the D2. Because of this, you need to be on the Froyo kernel in order to load CM7, or it causes issues. CM7 IS Gingerbread though, and for all phones with an unlocked bootloader, it has a GB kernel too.

I guess that's the part I *don't* get. Does that mean that even though the Droid 2 Kernel, which is locked and FroYo, is somehow changed when going to GB Leaked version? If this is way too off topic for this thread, and someone knows of a better thread to read, I'd be happy to read/ask there.

Yes, the Froyo kernel is changed when upgrading to GB. Motorola can do that since they basically hold the keys to the bootloader.

Just in case you haven't seen it on xda, jrummy has released a tmobile themes apk that will give a list of available themes. He's integrating this into the toolbox, but I thought it might be helpful to those looking for a hub of themes.
Green=free
Blue=free and donate
Red=donate only.

All props and credit to jrummy! I'm just posting this for anyone who wants it. Install like any application

Ahhhh, and since this isn't a Motorola based ROM, we have to intercept the boot-sequence that exists at the kernel and inject this OS instead. Got it.

I'm assuming that intercepting the GB Kernel that is installed with the Motorola ROM is not as easy as the stock kernel then.

(honest, I'm not an idiot, just trying to absorb as much data as possible)

Loving build 35. Zippy, smooth and Delicious.
Boot up is consistently 10-15 seconds (to the lock screen) 35 seconds to fully complete the bootup process

Ok, just flashed to nightly 35 and so far can't notice any change from 33, of course, it's only been about 2 minutes and I was too busy replying to email when it rebooted to notice any boot time difference. I'll post anything I notice.

It's mainly behind the scenes stuff. I just have faith that each nightly will provide a better experience, no matter how subtle a difference.
