[ROM] [BETA] CyanogenMod 7 for Droid 2

I understand WHY it charges faster from the wall, but what is interesting is HOW MUCH slower it is. As you said, there is a much higher voltage coming from the wall, but I never noticed AS MUCH of a difference from wall to computer with other ROMs.

It is interesting. I guess I wasnt on CM long enough to notice but I kinda want to check it out now. Always love to tinker with stuff.

No worries... Plenty of duh moments here too. It's great to be a part of a community where you can not only get help, but also help others.

This is the reason that android became an obsession for me. I enjoy the OS and root etc. But there is a great community built on top of it, thats the big draw to me :)

I must say that I have seen a little improvement in battery life with this rom. After having it off the charger for 1 hour I lost only 8% in battery. In other roms I would've lost 12%-15%. So there is some improvement......its slow and steady.

That's cool I made some adjustments, as I am a heavy to moderate user, (at the current time) and I just lost 10% after contantly torchering the cyanogen settings... I tripped a few on and off and tinkered a bit, answeres a text and two reboots and a couple other button presses. So all that in half an hour, from 100 down to 90... not tooooooo too bad? I am getting ready to drop some apps and widgets not being used, just for looks, to see what more I can get.... its all fun and that's part of the addiction! Lmao

*Yup just flashed that one too!*

Not bad at all. I haven't even messed with settings...haven't had time yet. What adjustments did you make?

You are the only person seeing CM7 as having better battery life than any other ROM. What ROM were you using before?

Mainly backlight.. want it as dim as I can get it for evenings... I hardly ever use auto on cm7 because of the batt. But I also messed with the led flasher, works like a charm.. assigned colors and flash speed... I then looked at some other settings dealing with the anything I thought would use battery. Needless to say I am not yet comfortable messing with the heap pressures and all that... but there are some unique settings you should check out.. also played with the notification pull down and added some space by shortening the carrier badge.. a few more but I forget..lol

You think you can send me some screen shots of your settings? Just as a reference. I don't quite understand yet what some of those settings do however if I have something to reference to I think id be able to figure it out.

Yeah he probably is, I'm trying to think of a way or if someone knows of anyway that an app could be built, (crazy as it sounds) that would find wasted power and send it back to the battery some how.. sortof like fuel in a car that doesn't get burned off and goes through emissions.. I know it sounds like a crapshoot, but if someone told me there was such an app my axx would buy it!!! Or maybe just a log that tells you EVERYTHING that's being used and when and how much and then we could try and tweak the adjustments... yes I know I'm bored...had a few days off..lol

I've been flashing between MIUI and CM7, however I've been flashing CM7 since build 10 (not every nightly) and keeping track of my use and how much battery I have. Compared to MIUI CM7 is a bit better with battery. Not much but progressively getting better.

Wow dude! For real???? I always got kick axx battery compared to miui!? That's awesome for you! I will try and post the sceenshots but I am not certain they will post. I was having issues yesterday posting them on the forum... idk why? But that is amazing man, if you are getting better than miui!? Wow! Solude!!:-)

Yeah MIUI ate thru my battery....as did CM7 when I first flashed it. Kinda sucks cuz i looooove the interface/customizing in MIUI. I was using launcherpro though....wasn't a big fan of the default launcher. I'm getting my extended battery tomorrow so I'll check out how battery life is.
