[ROM] [BETA] CyanogenMod 7 for Droid 2

Nightly build #37 seems to have fixed the problem I was having with my wireless options. 3G and bluetooth were working without me having to turn them off and back on. Now if only the alt lock and voice search buttons could be made to work (yes I know there are workarounds for those but still I'd rather have them working than not working) I'd be all set.

what are the 2 work arounds u mentioned for the voice search button and alt lock?

Does anyone know how to get the backlight for the keyboard and soft keys working again? The soft key backlight just stopped working after I flashed nightly 40.

Happened to me once on a nightly.. I played with settings in cyanogenMod settings.. its under um... well just look you can't miss it.. there are settings for backlight and keys and all that.. which helped.. however.. if I were you, I would wipe data and everything again and it should fix the problem. That's what I wound up doing! But first see if you can't adjust in the cyan settings..no problems, no worries!:-)

*Yup just flashed that one too!*

I read a post by redflea about those settings and figured how to work them. I've put together some lighting settings based off what he was using and tuned them to my own. I'll test them out in the next few days.

i can't find the setting. do you know where exactly it is found?

Settings>cyanogenmod settings>display>automatic backlight. If you go to edit other levels you can mess around with screen/keyboard/button levels.

Here's a link to better understand what those settings do

Thanks bro! Came back with info to type after I mapped it out and you had it covered! Lol awesome..but I had the same issues and if that doesn't help, a wipe should straighten it out.. 30(nightly) did the same to me.. and I had the settings working but kept having to press the power widget to reactivate..lol

OMG that thread is AWESOME! Had no idea that setting was there! I wonder if having more screen brightness intervals will make for a slightly better battery life. (since screen is almost always on the top of everyone's battery consumption list.)

It should be due to the fact that the wall charger is throwing a much higher voltage than the USB is.

The question is has anyone noticed if the battery discharges faster due to charging with one or the other method? I flash too many roms, themes, and everything else to ever get an accurate reading.

I understand WHY it charges faster from the wall, but what is interesting is HOW MUCH slower it is. As you said, there is a much higher voltage coming from the wall, but I never noticed AS MUCH of a difference from wall to computer with other ROMs.

Agreed.

My next task is to get this screen to stay at MIN brightness regardless of ambient light, I swear I can notice a change even tho I don't have AUTO turned on.

ps: Anyone flash 42 yet? What's on the change log?

I don't know if you know this, but those lights won't work unless Auto Brightness is enabled. If you enable Auto Brightness they should work.

I have mine off and all my lights are working..maybe I'm a rare case? Idk but I'm glad as I need all the battery I can get! Thanks for the help though dude!:-)
