[ROM] [ROM] Droid Concepts Froyo Releases [BETA versions]

Sorry Davos...just realized you might have been addressing me (?) about the reboot I mentioned. I am currently running the newer (the ones for froyo or gingerbread) chevy1 lv1000gz, on demand, set at 700, using the DC performance settings. So, you think this kernel is causing the infrequent reboots? Can you recommend another?
Thanks Bro.

I had a problem with his newest kernels as well. I use one from his 5/20 batch that he made with an old compiler I think and I have had no issues. Getting 20+ hours on battery.

I was getting very bad battery life on the 5/31 set of Chevy's kernals. RZ kernals weren't much better, switched to a P3 and it's helped. Think the Chevy 5/20 kernals are significantly different? Thanks.

TBH I'm not sure in terms of coding how different they are, I just know he compiled them differently. But to my experience so far, the 5/20 ones have run consistant and with cool temps for me. No reboots or funny behavior. With the 5/31 I would get hang ups, reboots, redraws(not bad, but noticable), odd ball things here and there. If anyone wants to give it a whirl, I have the 1ghz lv. I don't believe the links in chevys forum work any more. Shoot me a pm and ill get it to you.

To be honest I can't know for sure if chevy's latest kernel has been running hotter or it's just me playing Words With Friends, which kills the damn battery by pegging the cpu full throttle while a game is open. That aside, I've noticed a few spontaneous reboots, related to heat or not.

I may go back to the 5/20s and see if anything changes. I also use the 1 ghz lv kernel, but I think I dloaded them all. Will check when I get to work.

How hot are your phones getting? I'm super picky about my temps and I'm wondering if I'm too picky.

Looks like I've got a bunch of 5/31 - 5/26 and 5/20 kernals. I loaded up a 5/20 1 ghz med last night and this morning it's at 90. This is the least I've lost overnight with no use in a while. Hopefully consistent today with regular use.

Well, after using my browser moderately i seem to get 105F quite easily. Reboots seem to happen soon after with continuous usage. That never used to happen with the older kernels, the overheating or reboots. Then again, it's hard to compare before and after, because my habits have changed. I tend to underclock more now to compensate for that stupid game. :)

Before, I left my overclocking alone, save for my profiles. I could leave it OC to 1ghz and it never got to 105+ unless i was outside in summer weather or doing some serious web surfing. Reboots were unheard of.

PS I've only had maybe 3 reboots since installing this latest kernel. That is a high number to me, about once per week. I haven't rule out the latest version of setcpu either. It's done a couple of funny things with the reported settings not seeming to match my profiles. Maybe just me though.

I'm running Chevy's ulv 1.2Ghz kernel set with a max of 1.1 and minimum of 800 with interactive scaling. I rarely if ever have any reboots. I don't slow the cpu until the cpu temp reaches 50°C. Currently its at 30°C (86°F) sitting on the dock. It only gets up to 50° when I am doing heavy web surfing. Not sure if the date showing in file manager for the kernel is the date I downloaded it or the date it was created but it is showing 3/23.

I don't start to worry until it hits 120F. After that, I usually close what's running and let it cool. It only gets that high if I'm surfing the web for while (especially flash sites) or playing extended sessions of Angry Birds ;-)

your not crazy, no worries, that was me.. lol, I added that to the settings to backup, been debating on whether or not I wanted to backup automatically the colors or just leave it up to the user, and to experiment I added the part to back up just the pull down, so the fact that it restores is normal at least now.. lol, its why this is called BETA, I like to throw in surprises and things that I'm working on/messing with, and if someone notices then sweet, if not its not a problem.. :)

So here's an odd for you all. I've briefly talked to davros about this but still it occurs. I completely wiped 6x and after a fresh install my custom color for the status bar restores itself after login is complete. I've done this 5x and had the same result. Can anyone else confirm this? If so I'm wondering where the data is being stored and not wiped........ using rzr 2.0.3
