[ROM]Fission 2.4 Droid2 Global-Vanilla Generic Android-AOSP Like-Fission ROM Manager

Excited for an update on my D2G!! Just hope the Gingerbread theme gets updated as well really like that one on my phone

Thanks for all your work again AngDroid!

It would be cool if this had music controls in the multitask menu when you hold down home. Or some in the notification menu.
Or if there's an app for that could someone tell me.

Indeed sir! Always ready for an update haha

I read on one of their Twitter posts that the D2G is more complicated to do a ROM for.

I am really curious why it's so hard. It's virtually the same as the D2 and the DX.

I will wait for someone to shoot me down on that though. I just want to understand what makes it that much more complicated that it should take months of extra time to get a release out.

It's not so much that it is a complicated thing create a ROM for, it's the fact that the framework is different from the D2 and the DX. In turn the D2G framework is different from the Droid Pro. Since the frameworks are different you essentially have to re-create the ROMs individually for each set of hardware. That coupled with the fact that the SBF was released a month ago ROM development for the D2G and Droid Pro have been lagging behind the other Moto handsets.

COULD be the fact that it's a completely different processor, as well as the extra cell radio, SIM functions, etc., etc. Don't forget, the SBF for our phone has been available for less than a month. Before that, devs risked bricking their (or others') test phones. Be patient, or start learning to code.

I do very much appreciate the hard work that goes into the development of a ROM. I know it is much more comprehensive than I will understand at this time.

That said, I did donate to Team DeFuse, and that was over a month ago. Within that timeframe, a new ROM update has been promised two times. Once on January 6, and once two days ago. Neither has arrived. Someone is simply choosing to give their (what I am sure is limited) ROM time to some other device. As a result, I question my donation last month. I thought I was investing in development for my phone, not just the DX.

I am hoping they will understand the feelings here.

+1. with all respect to the developers, but I'm feeling abandoned at this point.

Yeah, I agree. I understand how difficult ROM making is, but the fact that we have been promised twice and then nothing happened is unsettling. 2.4.3 is great, no problems here, but the fact that other devices are going to be on 2.6 is almost annoying.
Listen, I love fission and the whole DeFuse team. They made my X awesome, and they always updated. I get that the D2G is a whole new device with different frameworks and probably new issues with porting fission features, but 3 and a half weeks with no update and no info on why except cut fingers? Pardon me if I'm a little disappointed.
I hope I'm just being impatient and that updates are coming, but I just can't help but feel left out. Come, prove me wrong DeFuse!

I could be wrong, but I remember reading on another forum that Angdroid fell off a stool, and put his hand in a box of Christmas ornaments to stop himself, and cut his hand up pretty good, so coding has been slow.
