Come on... No flame wars guys.

Most people know how to install ROMs but very few really know how to build a ROM. Not only that, but the D2G has some nasty restrictions, like a locked bootloader and the fact that the ROMs need to support the craziness of the Global portion of the phone. If we were talking about the Droid 1/2 where there is more of a stable base, then thats one thing.

Does this rom have SIM support yet?

Ok, this thread has been around for a while but I'm still hesitant to use this ROM because of this bit of info from the description:

"This ROM does not have SIM card functions yet so if you are using a SIM card then please do not use this ROM."

Does this mean that I won't be able to use the phone on GSM networks? I'm leaving the states for a month long trip to France and I'd like to be able to buy a SIM while I'm over there and keep using my phone.

Should I wait it out, or is there any ROM that supports GSM / SIM usage for the D2G?

Thanks for any advice, there's tons of info out there on D2 and DX ROMs, but not so much on the D2 Global.

So this ROM is pretty much the only one that is available right now for the D2G? Is there any kind of "Theme Manager" available for this ROM kinda like the MIUI Rom for D1?

BTW, anyone recently installed this Rom for their D2G? Planning on doing this to my gf's D2G.

Yes it is, and I wouldn't trust any other Rom... that's just me, I been thru 3 D2G phones. Im sticking with Fission. Just gotta b patient for the update to come. They should be here soon tho... (crosses fingers) I hope

I bought recently a droid 2 global in NY. I unlocked it and now I use it with a italian sim card. I want to flash this rom in my D2G. What languages are supported by this ROM? There is Italian or German or French?

I do not have the reboot option in my power menu why not or how do i enable it?

Angdroid copied and pasted the release notes from the standard D2 Rom without explaining that the D2G version was missing most of the advertised features.

So, I donated and got the link to the full rom manager, downloaded it, but then it wouldn't install. It said there was a problem parsing the package. Any ideas why?
