Open Droid2 Bootstrap, click on the first button, grant it su permission and then it should stop bootig into recovert when you power up your phone.

Which first button, "Bootstrap Recovery"? Did that, but it still goes into the bootstrapper (Clockwork anyway!) menu when the phone reboots. Makes it hard to return to VZ for a swap! I am using stock, maybe Fission is different here.

Update: I found these instructions (http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dr...s/102962-how-remove-clockwork-recovery-2.html) which worked for me. I was a little nervous about actually deleting files from system/bin, but it did the trick!

1. Reroot
2. Get root explorer in the market
3. Uninstall the bootstrap app
4. Go into root explorer to system/bin
5. In top right corner tap r/w
6. Delete the file called hijack
7. Delete logwrapper
8. Rename logwrapper.bin to just logwrapper
9. Reboot and it should be gone.

Thank You.

Wow. Thanks to everyone involved with this ROM. The Fission 2.4.3 ROM is the ROM that should have shipped with the Droid 2 Global. You have saved me so much time and effort because I really was just about to return my Droid 2 Global and reactivate my Droid 1 before I found this thread. I could not stand Verizon's red coloring on everything, the uglier icons, the mangled phone dialer and sms app, and most of all Motoblur getting in the way of my account syncing. Sorry Motorola I don't want all my data backed up on your servers. I love that the new lock screen music controls are still there.

I was weary of installing this at first since there is no SBF available but I am so glad I did. The Fission Rom Manager made installing everything a breeze. I hope everyone buys the Bootstraper App from the Market and also donates at least $5 to download the full version of the Fission Rom Manager. Thank you so much for restoring the full functionality of my phone!

OK...so I want to install this ROM, but I have a concern.

The main reason that I purchased this phone was because of the SIM/GSM capability. I have already input the SIM unlock code into the phone and am currently using the phone with my Afghan SIM...no problem.

Question: Does this ROM support the SIM/GSM setting to allow this? And if i install the ROM do I have to re-enter the SIM unlock code?

Ready...Willing...and Able...but concerned......

It should support all sim cards, I have it working with ATT :) There will be an updated package on Fission ROM Manager soon that has more of the sim card functions.

Make a backup first, if it does not work then you can always go back. You should not need to enter your code again but make sure you have it handy in case you do need it.

This sums up my sentiments exactly. MotoBlur is garbage. Motorola needs to stick with stock Android, really. I absolutely love this ROM. I'm running the Gingerbread theme, and it looks great. I used to have a Nexus One running Gingerbread, too.

Thanks again to the Fission ROM team, keep up the amazing work!

great rom i'm loving... one problem is really killing me tho.... i can't forward calls when on GSM... is there any fix for this?

ohh also are you planning to use the new ota update into this rom?

thanks

Droid Pro SIM Card HotFix

Noticed a hotfix in the Fission Rom Manager for SIM Cards. Is this only needed for the Droid Pro or also for the Droid 2 Global? Anyone know what functions the hotfix provides?

Thank you for all the work! Loving it with my D2G.... it all worked flawlessly.

I have a question in regards to my husbands D2G.... I used the exact same process, doing a full backup with Titanium before wiping and flashing the rom. Everything works great except all his contact are gone even after restoring with Titanium. I've reverted back to the stock nandroid I did and tried again with the same result. Any ideas why and how I can correct this?

Thanks!
Kathy

Did you went into the process of typing back his google account? If not..re do it again and follow Angdroid's Instructions very carefully....be sure to backup first using FRM.
You can click root and unroot on my sig. for some info. :)
