at last - I have installed Liberty 0.8 and it's working fine! :icon_ banana:

Two things I encountered while reading this How to: Get Rooted Gingerbread on DROID 2 - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog :
1) 2.3.20 SBF - at first I thought that I'll have Android 2.3.20 when I'll burn into phone, but I still had 2.2

2) At the beginning of the article there is file called Monster_2.3.2_4.5.153_updater_Rooted.zip .
And in the 17th step there is file called Monster_2.3.2_Rooted.zip !
I even Googled, and couldn't find file Monster_2.3.2_Rooted.zip.

Damn, who shorts filename and adds extension in the end? ))

I don't know if i totally understand your post, but 2.2 and 2.3.2 are both froyo. They are the android ver and system ver, respectively.

so i have 2.3.20 and i cleared data and cache then i ran Monster_2.3.2_4.5.153_updater_Rooted.zip and when it booted up it did everything it was supposed to. well until i turned it off for the night. then this morning when i turned it back on. it booted. and then my home screen kept flashing. none of my icons would load and i could get in to my app menu but the screen wouldnt scroll and i couldnt select any thing. it was like it was looped trying to load. i tried to restart. tried a battery pull. ended up going back to 2.3.20. will try again later but any one have any ideas?

Wipe cache/data, flash GB from card, wipe cache/data again then reboot. See if that works.

2.3.20 is Froyo. It is stock android os that came with your phone. The "monster_2.3.2_4.5.153_updater_rooted.zip" file is the Gingerbread leak. Your android version won't say 2.3 until you flash the monter file, at which point you'll be running GB. After you flash that file you can then flash the liberty rom which is downloadable through liberty toolbox.

The file is a leaked version of GB. This is not the official GB update. This file should be close to the official update.

I do mean the gb leak. I know its not the offish update. I really like it and she does too. I was just wondering if any one had put the leaked gb on a d2g yet. Also does any one have an answer abiut my facebook question?

Not on a d2g so im not sure. Did you check out the d2g section on these forums? Maybe someone has some experience with it

I thought the syncing of FB contacts was done thru the app? Whenever you sign in for the first time you have the option to sync your contacts.

I would def check the D2G forums about the GB leak. Pretty sure its for D2 only, however their may be one for D2G. Check the forum.
