[ROM] [ROM] Liberty Gingerbread

The beta Swype works great on Liberty v0.8, however I had FCs on v0.9. Not sure why. When I get back on Liberty (which will be a while) I'll try it again and see what happens. Just got back on Fission and forgot how nice it was :D

Does anyone know where I can find a list of LGB 0.9 themes. I don't see them in the toolbox. Thanks and keep up the awesome work.

This is from memory. There may be more
Gingercomb juiced
Oreoslice
Arcticslice
Vzw blue
Blacked out red
Blue on black

Each has a thread on these forums (d2/dx liberty section)
Dx themes work on d2 but lack haptic feedback on soft buttons

Like I said, each has its respective thread in the liberty section of the forums. You can dl them there

That will take care of the swype issue, but have you made any progress with the contacts issue? I know how annoying it can be.

Sorry, late reply. But yeah, still having contacts issues. I even tried using a different contacts app and it is still FCing. So I'm not sure if it's Liberty or the database. What would I need to get rid of to clear out my entire contacts queue? Is there a limit to the number of contacts that I can have?

Issues with 0.9

Anyone having any of the following issues?

  • When disconnecting WiFi, the phone does not connect to 3G data until a reboot.
  • Randomly, when making an outbound call, after dialing the number and pressing call, a "toast" will appear showing "0:00" as if the call was ended. This will happen over and over until a reboot.
  • When playing memory-intensive games like Plants vs Zombies or Cut the Rope, the phone will randomly do a soft reboot.

Let me know if you are.

Am I the only one having these issues?

I haven't had any of these issues. What I did have was some performance issues and random reboots. Although once I uninstalled widget locker, they all went away and has been running beautifully for a week now.

Also, when I disconnect my phone from the car dock, sometimes my speakerphone is enabled. Although this hasn't happened in a week; it usually would happen after a couple of days. I'm wondering if installing the gingercomb theme fixed it; I know that theme replaces the dialer. It could also just be a run of good luck.

Another issue I've been having is with bluetooth. I would connect my headset and use it just fine. But, if I let it set for a while when I'm not using it and I try to re-connect it, I would have issues like my phone showing that it's connected properly, but when I go to use it the sound would come out of the phone's speaker, not my headset. So, when I disabled the bluetooth and turned it back on, 1/2 the time my phone would reset. I haven't used my bluetooth in a few weeks though.

Hoping you guys can offer any insight on my issue.

Currently on cyanogenmod 7. Want to switch to Liberty. Downloaded the donate Liberty toolbox and tried to install v8 from the app. Phone reboots and I get stuck at the Liberty splash screen (fist). Only thing I've been able to do with this is reboot back in to recovery and reinstall cyanogen from the sd card and then reinstall the google apps.

Am I missing something? I did the wipe before install and still no worky. I've tried several times so far.

At this point I'm stuck paying $5 for an app I can't use and cyanogen which is draining the life out of my battery as it sits on my desk.

You need to install the Gingerbread leak first if you want to do Liberty GB. I would sbf first (make sure to wipe data/cache), reroot, install, GB file, then flash Liberty.

CM7 is Froyo-based IIRC. If it really is, you'll need to SBF back to stock, install the GB leak, and finally install LGB.

I thought I was on Gingerbread already. Android Version on phone says 2.3.4 which Google told me was GB. Maybe not the correct version?

Where can I find this leaked GB?

Also, forgive me for my lack of knowledge on this subject. I'm new to phone modding. What is sbf?

Thanks for your help!!

CM7 is GB but it boots off the Froyo kernel, which is why you need to be on Froyo to install CM7, Liquid GB or MIUI. Liberty GB is based off the GB leak which needs to be flashed first. Here's a link for the GB leak.

Sbf to froyo first (wipe data/cache) reroot then flash GB leak then Liberty.

Sbf'ing means you flash the original system (froyo) file via rsdlite and it returns your phone to stock, like when you first pulled it out of the box. You need the original system file (2.3.20.sbf), motorola drivers, rsdlite, and usb cable.

Awesome, thanks for the help and the explanations on some of this stuff!!

My next question is it is worth all this trouble to go back to stock, then to GB then to Liberty versus staying with Cyanogen?

Do the pros out weight the cons on this?

The other funny thing about all this is that when I reboot my phone I still get the Liberty splash screen for a few seconds before getting the Cyanogen screen. LOL!
