i think i get what you're saying, do this with a full battery, because the recovery app takes over charge mode, so while the rom is flashing it wont be charging, so if my batery is almost dead it will die halfway through update
where do we get bootstrap?

Sorry have to ask. Are u already rooted?

And not only when u r flashing roms. U wont be able to charge with ur phone off until u press charge mode in system recovery.

System recovery= bootstrap recovery = clockwordmod ported recovery
they are the same app. Sorry if I confused u.

That is the recovery everyone uses. It comes up as sstem recovery in your app drawet. When u open it it says stuff about ATRIX just ignore that. That's what everyone uses
As we said. Press.install recovery. Wait fir success. Then plug into wall then press recovery mode.

Yeah I know lol. It sounds bad but trust me. Mike he is very trustworthy and will never point ya in the wrong direction.hell I've even sent him donation for his hard work and knowledge

But if u wanna flash roms that's what u gotta use. Its all we got t until hopefully we get an unlocked bootloader which could possibly never happen. Don't worry it works. And it wont mess up anything as ling as u use it correctly and research what u flash before u flash. Don't ever try to flash a rom for another phone.or system different than what u have.

I am actually on the rooted gingerbread which has a rom called eclipse. "Official download" over at xda dev forum.

I ONLY press charge mode if I want to be able to charge while.phone off.

I don't recommend pressing it though. Don't need it for anything other than that. Just don't let your battery die.
if u last pressed charge mode on system recovery u will not be able to get into recovery if u mess something up by just turning off and.plugging in.

First thing to do when u get into recovery is make a backup.
choose backup/restore. Then I always put the backup on external sd card. And wait for it to finish making your system backup. At end it will look like anu error butthat u willget have apressed folder on sd card that says clockworkmod with a system backup in it that will come in handy if u ever mess something up u can just turn off phone and restore that backup to bring u right back to where u r now. As long as install recovery was.last pressedcharge so charge mode was hijacked. If u press charge.mode then recovery wont pop up when u power off and.plug in.

Mike will correct me if im wrong but I don't think minimal x has any dev support for it as most people are on rooted gingerbread or gingerbread based roms now. I believe all froyo roms have been abandoned by devs so no new updates will come for them.

Froyo Roms Look Like They're Abandoned But 100% Abandoned Is Not True. Any Dev Could Come Back And Update Them. Gingerbread Is Definitely One Hot Topic Now.
