[ROM]One small step for man one giant leap for --- Liberty 1.5 2/2/2011

My buddy just flashed Liberty and only a handful of his contacts made it over. I thought I saw a work around posted but I just went through the 35 or so pages and didn't see it.

I noticed in troubleshooting his problem that backup assistant is gone too.

So....does anyone know where to get the backup assistant for the D2?

I found it for the DX but not the D2.

Also...how can I restore his contacts? Without backup assistant (if he used it) I don't have any ideas....

Spartan....would you like a step by step with links? I feel like a pro now. I have rooted and flashed Liberty 9 times in the last 24 hours on 9 D2's....well actually 8 and a DX.

Actually why not? I am trying to apply the update.zip in recovery but it keeps saying E:signature verification failed. People keep saying I just need to re download the liberty rom and all will be well. This happens to me whether I am installing Ultimate Droid or Liberty! It seems like there is something that is still broken despite me doing a full SBF restore!

Why are you trying to use the update.zip? Follow the instructions in the first post of this thread, you use the "Install Zip from SD Card" option.

Spartan....here you go man....hope this helps.

What I have been walking my friends through is like this here. I hope this is descriptive enough to avoid any confusion.

I am going off the assumption that you have already made a backup....if not let me know and we can do that first. But being that you have already tried to flash this before I am going to go with you have a back up.

So here are the steps:

1. Download Liberty from this link http://redirectingat.com/?id=1629X537947&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2FfhT2KI&sref=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.droidforums.net%2Fforum%2Fliberty-rom-d2%2F122034-rom-one-small-step-man-one-giant-leap-liberty-1-5-2-2-2011-a.html
2. DO NOT RENAME THE ZIP just copy it to the root of your SD CARD (in all actuality you don't even have to do that.....you can just navigate to the download folder and find it from there....but for ease just follow these steps)
3. Boot into Clockwork Recovery
4. use volume up and down to navigate....camera button to select....and the back arrow to back up a level
5. Navigate to Wipe data \factory reset
6. Select "Yes--delete all data
7. After wipe is complete use the back arrow to get back to the original menu where it shows reboot, wipe, back up and restore
8. Once in that menu select "Install zip from SDCARD
9. Select "Choose zip from SDCARD
10. Locate and select "Liberty2-1.5.zip
11. After installation is complete use the back arrow to get back to original menu again and this time select "Reboot"

That should be it. Let me know if you have any problems. If so just shoot me a pm and I will shoot you my number so I can walk you through it should you get lost somewhere. I recommended NOT renaming the Zip so that way it was easy to find.

If any of you guys see any problem with what I just posted PLEASE post in here and let him know.

Hey man thanks . I was also wondering why while I can access the Liberty Tools app I cannot install spare apps like I could in Liberty 1.0. Is there a side app I need to install so I can install the themes and other applications?

Is Liberty installed now? If it is then in the toolbox you can download and install themes.

Spare parts is included in this rom in Settings>Liberty Settings>Spare Parts
