Any reason why I should be scared to do this? XD

I've downloaded Liberty for Droid 2 1.5 on my computer. copied it to the SD card. Used MyBackupRoot to backup Apps/Data and the other phone data (SMS, contacts, etc.). I've used ClockwordMod to create 2 nandroid backups -- all of this is doubly backed up on my computer. I also have the .sbf in case of emergency on my computer.

Sounds like you are all set pm me for instructions on installing if you need them ;)

I need a version of GV that doesn't use direct access numbers; I believe the last version that doesn't is 0.3.4. The reason being that I have Verizon Friends and Family, and by using a single GV access number, I don't use minutes for any of my outgoing calls when dialing through GV. As far as I know, all of the newer versions of the app use different access numbers for each frequently-called contact. I don't see an older version in the Inverted Apps thread, but I appreciate the tip...I'm new to Liberty and still learning about all these fancy features.

As an alternative, you can use something like GV Dialer (free app from the market) - it will use your data connection to set up the call, then dial out to you from your google voice number and connect the call. That's what I do - it doesn't cost minutes, and it works like a charm.

Thanks! I was able to get Liberty up and running early this morning. So far its amazing, my phone feels brand new. Battery life seems great, and the ROM is snappy (and flashy!). I like it a ton!

However, it seems my touch screen is going nuts on occasion. I'll be playing words with friends, and picking a letter from the bottom pulls the notification bar down, etc. It SEEMs random, but just now the problem didn't happen until I opened up Words.

Excellent ROM though. Lovin' every minute of it.

I also am flashed with apex 1.4.1 right now so should I do a factory reset/wipe data?

YES. Always your best bet when going between ROM's. Otherwise you may, ahem, most likely will have issues.

What theme do you currently have installed? I went through the Liberty Theme (base theme) and made sure that i themed everything so that it could install over the top. And please direct all theme questions to the proper theme thread, just to keep areas clean.

Is it possible to get haptic feedback working on the wycontacts? Even though I have the option checked, I only get haptic working if I install the aosp version, but then I lose the theme stuff.

hi

I installed the latest liberty rom on my droid2. during boot the liberty logo shows up and disappears. the display stays black and nothing else happend. what should I do to restore the old rom?

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but the hardreset (Switch on the phone whilst holding the ‘x’ key down and keep it pressed until the Android logo appears) doesn't work.
the behaviour is the same as above. (liberty logo shows up and disappears, display stays black)

thanks in advance
