[ROM] The Eagle Has Landed!!!! - Liberty 1.0 1/11/11

installed....played with....went back to Fission.

This ROM definitely has some cool features, but I really don't think it's super different enough to justify the permanent switch.

Also I kept getting force close errors in the settings. I downloaded the market app and managed to at least get into the liberty settings menu, but i still got some other force close problems.
For people who are constantly tweaking their phone this ROM is perfect because of the sheer amount of options it has built in to make constant tweaking a breeze.

However for someone like me who just wants to get their phone set how they like it and then just leave it be, it's probably not worth the switch from Fission.

(also i did a data clear 3 times before installing, then another factory reset after installing....still no ditching the force close errors)

What FC's I have yet to get one.... did you install any themes? if so please let me know so I can test and make sure they are not causing issues.

Go to settings > About Phone. Now look at system version, it should say 2.3.340. However if you are running Rubix it may not say that, also your kernel version should be g55626e1 if you took the 2.3.340 OTA. If you are running 320, its should say 2.3.320 and kernel version should be gca645b6. Hope this help you identify it :)

Hmmm... so my system version is 2.3.15.MB810 and the kernel is 2.6.32.9....so i guess i can't get this rom?

Need the letters. Kernel version for 2.3.340 is 2.6.32.9-g55626e1

Just update:

Thanks for clarifying... I dont have that version... so if I update it using the zip your provided do I just do a regular clockwork reboot and install it? Will it mess up my current rom?

Which version do you have?

For the pulldown bar editor...it works fine with no theme. After I put on the Gala S theme, it switched back to Liberty v1.0 and will not change.

So is it possible to still use the "standard" Beta Swype that's out there? Or do you have to use the one via Liberty Toolbox?

(I'm just trying to get that part set up right now so if I missed something my apologies...)

Meh, just installed the Pink Life theme and went to flash back to the stock Liberty and it kept some of the Pink life icons.. anybody else have any problems like this switching between themes?

To get your theme back to default you can allays install over the top without a a wipe...

Install what over the top? I'm also learning that you can't really switch between themes, unless you want to end up with fonts, icons, etc. from previously installed themes.

General question about RomS. When did we get that 10% drop from a full charge like the battery on the Droid incredible?"software issues however you wanna call it" Never used to remember that on the x until recent roms out lately.

You're still on the 2.3.15 (OTA) kernel, the above referenced update method should work. Just make a nandroid backup to be safe. Follow the instructions in that link and you should be set.

boot into the bootstraper and install the ROM again without a wipe.. you will not lose your install apps or your settings but the system apps will go back to default

The link I posted to Mader's update, will basically take you to clean 2.3.340. Make sure you follow the instructions in that thread!

Once on 2.3.340, re-root (z4root or whichever method you prefer), install Droid X bootstrapper, and install the ROM.

:)

Ah ok that's what I suspected. We should probably add that in the OP or something or "themeing guide". The Toolbox app makes it look like you can just switch between themes, but you really can't. (For instance you lose the clock if you go from Vanilla to Liberty.)

It's too bad though - would have been awesome. Installing the ROM again I'll lose the app mods.... Anyway, thanks for the reply!
