[ROM] The Eagle Has Landed!!!! - Liberty 1.0 1/11/11

I just want someone to confirm that they can in fact successfully use the pc mode and/or media sync mode while connected to a windows xp or windows 7 pc.

I've tried on 3 different computers with no luck, it always fails on mtp device, if I watch closely, mtp interface.

It works for me while running stock, and running apex rom. If this is happening for everyone, that's fine with me, but if it's just me, I may have be going crazy...

Thanks.

that feature is Broke :( what did you need it for though

I think it's just a small bit of OCD in me. I once transfered music to my phone using that setting and windows media player and it was super easy. I just didn't know that it was a known issue so I figured mine was just screwed up.

At least now I can rest easier. I spent days trying to install, remove, reboot, hack, crush drivers into my computer because I thought I was the only one.

Thanks dancedroid

No I download to my computer and then put on my phone. Its been at it over 10 minutes so far. And where was the theamename.zip folder at ?

hmm I guess now I am little confused. Could you please give us more details. You downloaded the ROM to your computer, then moved it to your SD card and then what? I don't know what theamename.zip actually is? The downloaded ROM file should be named LibertyX-1.0.zip. Are you talking about themes? Liberty donwloads themes to this folder \mnt\sdcard\liberty\downloads

I used bootstrapper to load the liberty.zip and start the install as the first page says but i just see a liberty logo that flashes as has been that way for a very long time. Then i was talking about the second part on the first page that says
nstalling themes or Addons
-boot into recovery via clockworks bootstrap
-select "mounts and storage"
-select mount /system
-go back "powerbutton"
-select "install zip from sdcard"
-select "choose zip from sdcard"
-find and select TheameName.zip
-reboot

but i couldnt find the theamename.zip file so i rebooted and its stuck in that mode.

The themes can be downloaded here: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/liberty-rom-dx/115527-themes-mirrors-liberty.html if you want to manually download and install through clockwork recovery (that's what the above procedure is for) theamename.zip actually refers to "the theme name" and it is a zip file.

Were you able to actually successfully boot into liberty and you got stuck while trying to install a theme? If so then:

Remove battery
Insert batery
Hold power button + home button
When you see the Android logo with the exclamation mark hit the search button.
Select wipe data/factory reset and then reboot

Only do this if you got it messed up while trying to theme it. I am assuming the first installation of Liberty went without a problem and you were able to boot previously.

Anyone else like to add anything?

for a smart guy I'm feeling really stupid now. Thanks :)

I've been trying but still can't get a straight answer . Can you install themes from the tool box at will meaning if i have one theme i can try another over that one or each theme has to be installed over a fresh Liberty ? .

Only works in Blur framework.
Stock is blur framework.
Apex is based on blur framework.

Has never worked in Focused since about 1.6, didn't work in Gummy nor Liberty. Not going crazy. :)

Only thought/suggestion I have.. is if you have to wipe data, I'd reinstall the ROM again after.

The ROM actually installs several things to the /data partition, including the all important inet.d.conf file... the one that holds the settings for a bucketload of scripts and configuration info.

Anyone else having video crashes? Camera works, video portion does not

Sent from my DROIDX using DroidForums App

Most common cause for this is either:

--camera app has corrupt data/cache.
Fix: Menu> Settings> Applications> Manage applications> all tab> Camera
Force stop, Clear cache, Clear data, then give it another try.

If that doesn't work:
--Verify you're on 2.3.340. go to about phone, and confirm your kernel is 2.3.340 version: 2.6.32.9-g55626e1
If it's not, then I suggest you update, re-root, re-bootstrap, reload the ROM, and it'll work fine.

You can...however...sometimes it will leave some of the old theme when you put the new theme on. For example, lets say Linear theme changed the font in the theme...then you put on Gala S theme, that does not change the font...you will wind up with the Gala S theme with the Linear font. It all depends on if the different themes changed the same portions of the rom's appearance. If the 2 themes all changed the same things...then yes you won't have anything being left behind.

I used that example because I love the Linear font...and the Gala S theme...so I get both now :)

The old clear data did the trick....wow noob moment there.
Well the rom is perfect. Now to find and complain about something else.......

I'm having a few issues with the pulldown bar editor. First, there is some text it doesn't like (I tried "Verizon Wireless" and it wouldn't update to it). Second, after a awhile, changes no longer take effect. I've changed it a few times and now changes I make don't update. It did this on my first Liberty install too; after a few time changing the text it just got stuck.

Anyone else having this problem/know of a solution?

Yes. You have to change it to Go Bears! like I did. With appropriate spacing of course. Worked perfect first time.

I tried changing it to "Go Bears!" but all it said was: "Cutler = Red Zone Interception Machine". Weird...

That must be the Packers mod for Liberty.
