[ROM Tools] Team Get~R~Done D2G Rom-er Tool - a tool Convert D2 Roms for use on D2G

13th, did gummyjar let you back into recovery? Maybe my issue was a fluke.

The more I read about people trying this, the more I get the feeling that every phone responds ever so slightly differently. Some boot Apex, others won't...Very odd.

Oh and mreyn3693, was your SBF experience on a Windows 7 machine by chance? My experience with Win 7 and RSD lite was so bad, I don't even bother trying to SBF anymore until I get to work (where I have XP).

I got stock, fission, gummyjar, and liberty 1.0 and 1.5.... always make sure you have nandroids of whatever you like just in case.

Sounds like a good idea.

Here's something new... for some reason when I plug my d2g into usb, the verizon page opens on my browser?

That is because you installed Motorola's tools (drivers) so you could SBF...Annoying as crap but you can disable it by right clicking the moto icon and unchecking the take me to VZW box.

Ah, ok thanks again.

Lol, no I read about the windows 7 issues but I was on an xp machine. I guess I'm just lucky. What's funny is I was about to attempt it on my windows 7 laptop after failing a few times on my xp desktop. Guess I should be glad I didn't because I would have probably had more issues going that route.

Hmmm, I seem to be having another issue now. Nothing big but I used to be able to use liberty toolbox to change themes. I have tried to change to watermark'd and another one but I get an error and the install aborts. says can't open the file and has the path to the file on my sd card. I have checked my card with my pc and the files are there. I wonder what changed?

When my phone hits recovery while installing themes, it aborts too... I haven't looked too much into the issue. Some people say it works...

@Buryboi My take on different phones do things differently is the install order. If everyone did a SBF, no OTA update, I am sure we would see more consistent results. But with the OTA and Fission adding/changing files, if the D2 ROM doesn't overwrite them, then there is still some possibility that there is a file or 2 different on each phone.

If the files are there, you might be able to manually boot into recovery, choose flash zip, and manually navigate to the folder with the theme. Sometimes though, the phone reboots into recovery before getting the whole file downloaded (that my theory anyway). I've had to manually download themes from the droid2files site.

Haven't had any issues doing it manually...It may have something to do with a last minute build.prop check (done by Liberty toolbox). Like I said though, every phone seemingly responds differently. Some people have no issues with the toolbox and others cant get themes...

Edit: Just saw your comments, xPhoenix. That makes since to me. For what it's worth, the Romer was built after the OTA so if any of those files changed, it has the newest ones. I've got the ota on my phone still...I'll have to take a look.

Yea, its let me in every time ive tried.....

I havent had any issues sbf'ing from win7 so idk...

@mreyn3693 just download it and install manually. when i try to install a theme using the liberty toolbox it reboots and just sits on a lighted black screen until i pull the battery and reboot then its back to how it was.

Ok, downloading a few from the link above and gonna try some out shortly. thanks

I know I sound like a leeching faggot but could someone try flashing fission 2.4.3 off of liberty 1.5, I can't get it to work when I do it through their rom manager and im going insane without sensors. Or if anyone else is has flashed back to fission could you tell me what method you used, I don't want to sbf

You cant flash back to Fission from Liberty (or any other D2 Rom) because Fission is only "half" a rom. It doesn't include any lib files or bin files. Basically, because we had no SBF, Fission only flashed frameworks and Apps.

To get back, you'll need to restore a nandroid, or SBF.

And just fyi, for anybody that hasn't had to do it...yet, SBF isn't as bad as I once thought (back in the Droid 1 days). Takes less than 25 minutes to go from hosed back to where you were as long as you have a nandroid on hand.

I posted this awhile back.

It shouldn't. I assume if/when a rom comes out, it would be complete.

Don't worry about the questions, thats how we learn.

And yes...indeed there is a donate link over at the dev site.

Edit: Anyone ever tried to hexedit an .so file?
