[ROM] Zen-MIUI v2 Android 2.2 + MIUI

So...I cant get the stock dialer and contacts to work...very frustrating...I'm no noobie....

Wiped....Flashed MIUI Rom....
Manually restored all apps...
lots of force closes....so I flashed the dialer fix and got it running super smooth but had a FC on the Settings/phone storage like earllll....
so....
Redownloaded MIUI Rom, Booted up Chevy's 4.8 rom backup i had, did not wipe as instructed throughout, flashed MIUI Rom, ran fix permissions, cleared data from apps/all/contact storage and apps/all/google framework and still FC's stock MIUI dialer and contacts...
I have since flashed it over three times with varying combos with no luck....but the update.zip keyboard eri.xml fix works great....

So now I have a smooth MIUI Rom setup but with the Transparent Phone/Dialer combo because for the life of me I cant get the stock MIUI dialer/Contacts to work.....

Yeah, I followed all of it too, and I can't get it to work.

i didnt do that because it was syncing perfectly...no FC's etc....

How do you fix the phone fc? I get the number punch but um it only does it once then I re open the app and it works. Its just kinda annoying.

I wiped data and cache flashed Miui rom, then flashed the clear dialer and Bowers fix for the keyboard. I've been too busy having fun to worry about the sd card in settings force closing..( even though it does ) I'm just going to sit back and wait until everything is fixed in one great big .zip until then going to enjoy my new Miui goodness. dancedroid

Alright completely moved over to this rom. Phone, tether and such are working. I did my install like this

Restored to a UD8 backup that was my themed version.
Installed the Miui rom as an update without wiping.
Cleared data on both the contacts storage and google framework services.
I tested that I could make a call and receive one. check
Then I ran my update.zip for the fixes.
Installed wired tether. (using it right now)

Happy to be able to stick with it for awhile now. Might start theming it now.

so does the miui phone/contacts work? i hate the clear dialer.

yes but you have to do a work around
steps
1) load the miui rom over ss4.8 (other roms have worked but i know this one worked for me) without wiping data or cache
2) run fix permissions in rom manager
3) clear data from contact storage and google framework (under applications in settings)

I did steps 1 and 3. I do not have Rom Manager installed, so I did not do step 2, and all is well here.

I did the 3 recommended steps, I cannot get pass step 2, it keeps geting stuck and not completing. I tried 1 and 3 and still get FC s and Reboots. It seems like the Dialer fix is my best iption cuz I get No FCs at all..I guess my Droid has an ATTITUDE problem

Ok everyone...finally figured out how to fix the dialer force closing.

1. DO NOTE WIPE before installing this ROM. The only way to get the dialer to work is to install over an existing ROM.

2. Once you boot up you'll get a ton of force closes...this is ok.

3. Go into settings --> Applications --> Manage Applications --> Select "ALL"

4. Scroll to Contacts Storage and clear data for that app

5. Scroll to Google Framework Services and clear data for that app

6. Done. Everything should be working now.

i can't get my contacts to sync with facebook for pictures.. when i go into the contyacts "accounts" setting i get a force close. followed directions to a t. hrm..? came from the rom in my signature, and can use the dialer with no fc..

Amma try ur way Bowers and see what happens..Am definitely ready for Themes after this..Btw, Am begging for a Nice Dark Blue theme With Light Blue Accents and bright Wite Lettering And A very Dark Black BG

Anyone else notice you can mess with some of the battery settings? You can add the percentage in instead of the white fill-in of the battery icon or you can take the battery icon out and there is a thin green line running across the very top of the rom, pretty sweet touch!

thebowers, great fix for the keyboard....question did you figure out what's up with the settings>Sd card & phone storage force closing? I have read alot here and seems no one has looked this one yet...

Would installing back over this rom be considered an existing rom since I have the clear .zip dialer installed already and all my contacts are working now.
Do you think it would work if I flash the Miui rom over top of the Miui rom then clear data and framework?
