Installing Street View for Maps keeps failing...anyone else have this problem?

Remove street apk from system then reinstall through market.


Ill be messing with this tonight when I get home from work. I'm pretty sure I can remove all the Chinese writing. Need a translator!

Posted this in the other thread also. I installed over UD8 and pushed the AccountAndSyncSetting.apk with adb while in recovery. Rebooted went to account and sync and facebook and twitter both synced. Thanks for working on this bgill.

Google translate isn't that good, it usually gives the literal translation which isn't always correct..

EDIT: ADW is EXTREMELY fast on this, I've had zero redraws...hard decidison if I should stick with the stock as it is also great, or go with ADW >_>....

Hey bgill55 did you get the market to show the Verzion tab? Sorry if this has been gone over. I'm looking through the build.prop but it's tough since I am doing it on my phone.

Misc musings

Hmm, I did try this rom for about 25 mins last night, and since then this thread has grown by about 40 pages+! I did it the 'old' way, i.e. clean install, but now we have the 'new' way.

Which brings me to this interesting observation. This is obviously a 'copy and paste' rom that has been pasted over the top of CM6.0. When I was running CM6.0, I kept ketting alot of "android.process.acore" fc's. Now it's suggested to install over Sapphire 1.1.x, ss4.8, or some other rom, it gets hard to keep up for an old man like me. But why not go back to the original rom? Albiet I can't read chinese and when I try to go through the miui.cn site and d/l the original version of this rom, I can't even read the chinese there and my 'live search' translator isn't quite translating all the buttons for me. Anyways, since this is a copy and paster, why not paster over the top of a Sapphire and or ss rom? Put all the neat edits to framework-res.apk in it, etc. and call it a day?

One last note, I saw christim posted some pretty horrid battery performance, and I can't keep up if it was in this thread or one of the others, since this ROM has pretty much blown up the forums, but IMHO battery performance is usually worse on the 'copy and paste' roms.

Alright, this was a stupid move on my part, but I locked myself out lol. Word to the wise, I don't think 3rd party lockscreen replacement apps work, as I jsut tried fLockscreen, and it would not unlock. It may just be fLockscreen, as it is in beta. Good thing I have PowerStrip open on longpress, as it just saved me a buttload of restoring.

This isn't just a "copy-paste" It's ported over, It's not meant for the Droid that's why you can't just get the "original" version of this rom because there isn't any. Not for the Droid atleast.

Its not a build prop issue I think I replaced it with my and I get the same non Verizon market. Its something else ill find it tonight

i got the accounts and sync back, thanks to bgill, but i can't get facebook to sync. i go into the fb app, and it doesnt even have the option to sync contacts. i logged out of fb and logged back in, and still didnt give me the option to sync. i have fb 1.3.2 installed.

Can someone walk me through fixing the Facebook contact sync on this MIUI rom?

I've seen references to an .apk that will fix this, but I'm having trouble figuring things out as the forum thread is like 65 pages.

I've got MIUI customized the way I want, and I'm about to flash the dialer fix. With that and Facebook contact sync working, I should be good to go!
